Bringing Bertrand back would be great work. He can't have long on his Chelsea contract so shouldn't break the bank. Good call.

Not sure about Harte at CB though.

Binfield Royal Looks like Mills will go so

Move Harte to centre half where he'll have to do less running

Use the funds to buy Bertrand

solves the pace problem whilst not losing the potency of Hartes free kicks.

Did I read somewhere that chelsea want £5m for Bertrand? Like we will ever spend that sort of money

I trust what BMcD is doing. We have always gone for rough diamonds and got loads out of them - with a very small number of exceptions. It's the way we do things.

I think we brought in Morrison knowing that Kish would be off. I don't think we expected the level of interest in Mills that has come about.

In my opinion if Mills goes, we need a replacement not a re shuffle.

tee peg But we wont. Past form says that the money will go to JM and help reduce his loan to the club. We will either bring one of the youngsters through or bring someone in from the lower leagues.Thats the "Reading way"

How much has JM's loan been reduced by in recent years?

Come on tee peg, I really want to know how much JM's loan to the club has been reduced by in recent years.

Does anyone else know the answer?

erm yes.
at the last set of accfounts the answer was none by way of taking money out of teh club- he has converted much of his debts to shares(in a club he already owns)

That is because the books need to be balanced. For example, £100 comes in, £110 goes out. This means that £10 has to be found to make up the shortfall. Therfore, somone is sold for £15. Thus, £5 may be availble to spend or it may be held over towards covering any future shortfall. Or are you saying that all money coming in from player sales should be made available for future purchases? If so, I am gals that you are not involved with the running of this football club.

Pray tell how well you manage your own finances. I must be missing a trick or 3.

Not really. The point is that you were perpetuating the myth that Madejski has taken money out of the club either by way of salary or loan repayments which is actually completely false.

That would be beacuse our running costs are higher than our revenues and therefore need to be supplemented with transfer revenue.

Transfer fees being used in part to fund certain costs associated not with the club, but the hotel? The whole hotel thing is a bit murky to me but I know that loan interest iro the hotel appears in the club accounts.

I have put my hands up on the first part, not a big deal.I think we all agree on the reinvestment bit.
for whatever reason and no doubt you have burnt the midnight oil studying the accounts.Fair play to you.

TOTP

He's trying to do it the right way but you couldn't blame him for wanting to step up a level. £3m would be great money when he's a free next June, or worth maybe only £1m in January.

Anyway, there's 2 months left of the transfer window. Calm.

And add to this that I am sure that the club are already working on negotiations for players to come in should the need arise.

Don't agree - think Harte at CB is a lot less worrying than Harte at LB. Pace is less important than positioning at CB - especially if you have speedy full backs to cover.

I would like to see Pearce and Harte at CB with a new pacey player at LB. Morrison and ANO (probably up and coming younger player) could be reserve CB's. That way we keep Harte’s creativity but are less affected by his lack of pace.

So instead of having 2 CBs going up for a corner or wide free kick, there is only one because Harte, at CB, would be taking the free kicks. It would just make life easier for the opposition. Thanks, but no thanks.

But the goal threat from his free kicks and corners > threat of goals from other side
