Jones and Smalling were probably the only players that came out of the tournament with some credit. They will benefit from playing together at Utd - to say they are worse than Matt Mills is laughable.

And how can you say Johnny Evans and Gibson have "failed" at only 23 years old.....Gibson is a good player but needs game time, he should have gone out on loan last season, to another Premiership club.

Assuming you mean "next year" - I can see him him playing the usual "want away" role. Spurs might as well accept that Chelsea are a bigger draw and cash in on Modric.

Arsenal also reported today as being after Lavezzi who plays in Italy somewhere.

I only mention this as it reminds me that last week apparently Lavezzi was a surprise inclusion in the Argentinian team for a Copa America game and when one player was interviewed afterwards he was asked about that and the player confirmed that it was because Lionel Messi gets to choose who plays with him up front.
