I really, really hope we spend at least £2m of this on new players.

As I've said before, when the Sky cameras are on Mills he has a stormer, but the majority of the time he's very ordinary.

How often are Leicester on TV this season?

Nice to see us do a transfer without it being undisclosed tbf. At least we know exactly what we have here.

Royal Lady If it was a Prem team I could handle it - but a Championship club? Who finished wayyy below us?

10 points is hardly "wayyy below" - and with the amount of money they're splashing around, I dont think any can blame him.

Well plenty of other clubs splash money around but it doesn't mean they go up that season, or any other season tbh! He'll be gutted if we go up this season and he doesn't!

Quite possibly one of the worst £5million spent, another sign of football gone totally bonkers. Don't get much for your money these days!

buzzby Just coming up on SSN now, that Reading have accepted a 5 Million pound bid for Matt Mills.

5 Million yes please!!

£5m

Idiots. He's not worth that, especially with one season left on his contract.

Happy with that! Just hope we spend a little of it and replace him.

Perhaps he will, perhaps he won't - and perhaps he'll get a release clause writted into his LCFC contact that is triggered if they don't get promoted.

Either way, we're £5M better off and he's at a club that he sees as having more potential for top flight football together with earning higher wages in the process.

Win-Win.

This sums up my thoughts perfectly, would love it if we were ambitious in the transfer market - but severely doubt it!!!

URZZ May I be the first to say, if this isn't reinvested we are fcuked defensively. Feel free to laugh at my hopes of some of that '5 million' being put back into the club.

We are thought to be after a Colchester centre back if that helps.

Well at least 4 times I'd have thought. West ham twice and Forest twice because of the "big name" manager syndrome.

retro royal Leicester fans seem to think he's having a medical this afternoon

Just spoken to someone in the know at Leicester.

They are keen to get this wrapped up within 24hrs as there is further interest in Mills from other clubs at around the £4mil mark although no bids in as yet.

The reason for the just short of £5mil offer, as they have stated, which will be withdrawn if not acted upon, is to force the hand of Reading into getting the deal done now.

Well you win, our arms are right up our backs!

Hey, TBF we all thought the same when we were purchasing Mills as a Doncaster CB at the time!

And again - no Mills, Zurab or Ingimarsson, so our current centre-back options are Alex Pearce and not a lot else. And Pearce spent half of last season getting ridiculed on here. I'm not sure getting £5m for our captain, proven at this level, is much to celebrate until we've signed at least one but preferably two decent replacements.

What's even better than the money is that we know exactly how dodgy his temperament is and how to wind him up.

What are the odds of a red card for Mills the first time we play Leicester?

He was highly rated and the £2m price tag was enough to make most go weak at the knees. The Colchester bloke is of similar ilk to Sonko coming in from L1.
