Apologies, I wouldn't do that to anyone.

No Fixed Abode Thing is, if Henderson, Adam and Downing had signed for the big four we'd all be a bit

Not really. We'd be a bit that way if they had signed for Chelsea or City, because it's not their style to buy young English players with a view to long-term success. Few eyebrows would have been raised if they had gone to United, who were interested in Henderson, and who also signed a Villa winger in Young, and now have two still developing English centre-backs. Likewise, seeing young players with lots of potential going to Arsenal wouldn't have been much of a surprise.

You seem rattled Harold.

I am. Remember this is Liverpools year. We saw what the return of King Kev did for Newcastle, so I'm sure King Kenny will do the same at Liverpool.

I wouldn't put Ashley Young any higher than those three and Villa fans rated Downing higher than Young.
BTW who are the big four?
I would have thought there are currently the two Manchester clubs as the Big 2 but I'm not sure who makes up the other two with Arsenal now a selling club and Chelsea obviously with such little history and an owner who now is no longer the richest one around.

No Villa fans I've spoken to or know rated Downing as better than Young, that's a bit of a crazy suggestion tbh.

IMO, the so called big 4 are clearly United, City, Chelsea and Arsenal. Three of those have consistently finished in the top 4 and City are obviously now serious challengers. Below that you probably have Liverpool and Spurs as trying to break into that.

Young is streets ahead of Downing, anyone with eyes can see that and I'm certain that had he signed for Liverpool their fans would be saying the same thing.

Not really a big 4 any more, is there? The Manc lot and Chelsea can reasonably be expected to finish top 4 again next season though. I'd expect Arsenal to be the other one as they have been for so long now, but we only have to look at Liverpool to see how quickly that can change.

Wasn't Downing their player of the season last year?

I don't judge a player's ability and future potential on one season. maybe that's just me.

Nor do I but it's not a bad guideline and it fills me with a bit more confidence about his ability as I have never been one of his greatest fans.

Players' Player, Fans' Player and Sponsors' Player of the Season.

Sounds like Downing comprehensively whupped Young's butt. But Young's gone to Man Utd so he must be the better player.

I don't think that Dylan Kerr was a better player than Adie Williams

Ideal Do Liverpool currently have a left back who would outperform Ian Harte?
Laughable, I know, but do they even have a half-decent left back? I can't think of one.

I'd probably have Aurelio, Wilson or Robinson ahead of Harte, given the choice. Not sure if you'd count Johnson but him too.

Robinson has been on the radar for a couple of years, he's had nearly as much hype as a mid-teens Owen did.

Managed to catch the Liverpool v Sunderland game on Setanta on Saturday. Liverpool were pretty lucky tbf. Charlie Adam should have been sent off for numerous fouls commited. Suarez handballed it before he dived for the woeful penalty he missed and Carrol with pretty ineffective. Jordan Henderson was anonymous and Dowling did ok.

Gr8 goal by Seb Laursen though for a deserved point.

1-1 puts them above any team involved in a scoreless draw...

Poor fishing but

0-0 at Stoke > 1-1 at home to Sunderland. Especially with the amount of money Liverpool have spent.
