cmonurzNo Fixed Abode Thing is, if Henderson, Adam and Downing had signed for the big four we'd all be a bit
Not really. We'd be a bit that way if they had signed for Chelsea or City, because it's not their style to buy young English players with a view to long-term success. Few eyebrows would have been raised if they had gone to United, who were interested in Henderson, and who also signed a Villa winger in Young, and now have two still developing English centre-backs. Likewise, seeing young players with lots of potential going to Arsenal wouldn't have been much of a surprise.
You seem rattled Harold.

BR2 I wouldn't put Ashley Young any higher than those three and Villa fans rated Downing higher than Young.
BTW who are the big four?
I would have thought there are currently the two Manchester clubs as the Big 2 but I'm not sure who makes up the other two with Arsenal now a selling club and Chelsea obviously with such little history and an owner who now is no longer the richest one around.

No Villa fans I've spoken to or know rated Downing as better than Young, that's a bit of a crazy suggestion tbh.

Wasn't Downing their player of the season last year?

southbank1871 I don't judge a player's ability and future potential on one season. maybe that's just me.

Ideal Do Liverpool currently have a left back who would outperform Ian Harte?
Laughable, I know, but do they even have a half-decent left back? I can't think of one.

Bandini I don't think that Dylan Kerr was a better player than Adie Williams

Poor fishing but
0-0 at Stoke > 1-1 at home to Sunderland. Especially with the amount of money Liverpool have spent.
