I agree about his morale. He obviously wants to come back here - so he'll be pumped up and out to prove we should take him on. Hope so anyway!

ZacNaloen @Jonny Fordham Re: Sonko not playing for #Pompey last season, yes loan restricted him, but I've been told the games he did have were poor. Still, open mind

Poor games, but his morale would have been low. Keeping my fingers crossed. His performances before we sold him to stoke suggested he could still do it at championship level if his motivation was there.

I disagree - his judgement was never great, but he made up for it with speed and athleticism. After his knee injury the latter two have gone, so he's now just a series of penalties and sending-off waiting to happen.

I reckon he can easily still cut it here.. Heres to hoping he gives Mills a scare at our first away game

^ This - was certainly the case after he came back from injury and played for us - think Charlton away on August BH in 08/09. That's 3 seasons ago so thanks but no thanks.

As I said on UR & G a week or so ago I think Sonko is getting back to playing ok after recovering from injury.

He may never be able to play at PL level again but I think he is definitely good enough for this level. Hope the trial works out and we sign him. Would be a low cost gamble to give him a year - with the option for another year.

Pearce and Sonko might be good enough take us to the PL.

The Pompey fans I know said exactly the same about him last season. Great reputation, but it's as a simple fact that he's never been the player he was after that injury. Why do you think Stoke & Hull had him there and let him go?

As was his match fitness which he openly admits too. Stoke treated him disgustingly, as did Hull.

ALOL

We could sign John Terry and we still wont be going any where near the PL for a LOLong time.

Agreed -if we had Terry I would not be confident at all.

And all the players would stop their WAGS coming to games.

Sonks will do well at Reading.. He knows the club and is comfortable here not something he could ever be at Stoke Hull or Pompus.

Good Luck to him and I look forward to watching him head the ball and trying to guess where its gonna go

I for one like it.

There are a few things which are for sure. Brian makes sure his players are at top fitness. And Brian has a knack of getting the most out of his players. He is almost zen-like in his ability to do the second.

So why not give Sonks a look? We sure could use help at center back. If it doesn't work out no harm and we move on but if it does work out...Superman will be back in da house. :D
