Jackson Corner
who are ya? They are hideous! Wind up or not, our badge is nowhere near as bad as them.

Fulham still win the worst badge challenge though.

Agree that's as bad as our three stipe thing from the 80's.

Can't agree there. I've never seen a badge anywhere in football that was as bad as the Branfoot stripes badge.

Rumour has it that one of his children designed it in about half an hour, although I'm not 100% convinced. It surely wouldn't have taken that long.

Seeing them again...

A) Logo of a "financial services" firm that jumped in feet first on the mortgage-backed securities and credit default swaps joyride, got buried in the avalanche of September 2008, made the most of federal TARP funds, and since then has seen its profits go up by an average of 34 percent each year since while simultaneously managing the feat of not hiring on any new blood to keep up with boom times. Connect the inner wing tips with a small arc, and there's your nod to the three years during which Travelers Insurance was within their portfolio before the SEC abruptly announced that they don't know how they missed this one during the merger, but that's a likely antitrust filing --so sell that off.

B) Sleeve badge of elite U.S. Special Forces unit that doesn't officially exist and which may or may not have taken out Osammy bin Whammy (and nobody's talkin', so don't waste your own breath to ask). Jihadists the world over are known to opt for quiet suicide via poisoning wherever they happen to see that one on display, such as when tucked discreetly into a corner of a billboard, on single frames of cinematic film, in classified ads seen in pr0n mags and on cigarette packs in miniature. We are everywhere.

C) Put a straight edge on those curves, and you've got something very Art Deco with real potential, but it'll need something moar --perhaps a ribbon to festoon the austere shield, and other adornments (move the twin spires to the outer top?). It seems stuck partway amongst several design concepts --like a guy who gets into a time machine but has a loose shoelace hanging outside of the door, whereupon predictably calamitous (and sometimes LOLz) results ensue.

D) A), only for a firm that didn't receive TARP funding and went belly-up as its graphic design vendor was in mid-redo. Fail.

My vote is of course for C) as things stand, but it's still well short of good enough. Play with that one, make it work and bring it back for my inspection.

Svlad Cjelli The most surprising thing for me is that people manage to get so aerated about something as trivial as a badge.

Yeh it's not like the power of a brand has a semblance of importance anywhere else is it, strange this should apply to football too :|

We don't live in your communist utopia yet Svlad.

B looks like the profile of a Brighton fan laughing at the fact he's been chosen as the new logo...

Ohhh! I'm as strong on "brand" and as understanding of it as anyone else (maybe more so than most) and of course "brand" is important.

But there's no way that a footballs club's "brand" is set by its badge - the brand is far more long-established and a product of so many other factors like history, the actions and attitude of the club and how they behave, supporters, etc. A badge change has so little effect on the clubs brand as to be utterly insignificant - especially when considered in isolation as these badges are being.

So a great big LOL at the the thought that the brand of a club is changed in the slightest by changing the badge.

And an absolute ROFL at the implied suggestion that the people objecting/commenting on each of these suggested badges are doing so because of the impact on the club's "brand" image.

Not a ROFL matter. People may not be expressing themselves in those terms but I do believe it's the crux of the matter here.
