Did you not see him get rinsed defensively, time and time again then?

LOL @ a saved penalty being 'almost perfect'

CayeneMatt His corners were good today, maybe you were scratching your arse when he bent and dipped one on to Pearces right foot at the back post?. His freekick somehow got kept out, and his penalty was almost perfect, just a blinding save from the keeper.

He put more bad ones in than he did good. Our first corner he over hit and didn't get anywhere near a Reading player before running out of play.

Personally I think his deadball deliveries have been poor this season. He however force a decent save from the free kick on the edge of the box.

CayeneMatt Floyd......

You're talking complete bollox - as usual. If you don't rate Harte, then fine, but he had a reasonable game unlike Pearce and Bongani. So you sound a bit of a twat slagging him abouut today.

Williams and Gooding echoed these words re the penalty after the match too, i'd rate their opinion over yours.

Are you serious?

His set pieces were certainly poor against Millwall. Apparently he had good games defensively against Pompey and Leicester, but he seems to have been poor against Millwall and Barnsley.

And frankly the set piece argument won't start washing again until he starts delivering more goals and and assists, no matter how good some of his balls in may be.

I haven't seen his penalty yet, but it must have been an absolutely world class save if it was a good penalty, because a well placed pen is virtually unsaveable.

I agree with you that his dead ball deliveries so far this season are below that of last year.

My point is, he was our best defender today and against Pompey. I actualy thought he had a shocker against millwall.

Harte polarises opinion because he has recognised strengths and an obvious weakness, but I think it unfair to have a go at him about todays performance.

Thing is you seem to be the only one who says he was that good. He certainly didn't sound it and most people who went who've offered an opinion that I've read said he was poor again.

Errrrr... Of the few that have popped up on here, maybe.

You obviously didn't listen to the analysis on BBCRB after the match.

No, I didn't. I did read the back from the match thread and ask the question though.

Not just mine though. Pretty much every person at that game saw Harte get rinsed time&time again.

I prefer to make my own opinions rather than Mick Gooding telling me what to think.

Surprised they said he was good seeing as Gooding and Dellor described him giving the ball away too easily rather a lot.

Harte could score some important goals for us this season.
Unfortunately if he plays like he did today, he will lose us more goals than he can ever score.
That's one Duracell bunny with flat batteries.

His (and Huntys) penalty should've been retaken

Having watched them this morning I'd totally disagree.

On Harte's Steele moves and his momentum is slightly forward but as the ball is kicked he even has one foot on the line. With Hunts it's almost identical, he moves yes but not forward enough to warrant a retake. He's got one foot on the line and the other no more than a foot and a half forward.

The only one he's anywhere near to being off his line is with Robson-Kanu and that's only because of the pause in the run up.

although the second one was more marginal...the first one was both feet forward of the line...when the ball was hit

I fear that he actually could retire before the season is over

He looks completely disinterested - point in reference him jogging back to the goal vs Barnsley for their 2nd goal

Wonder whether his new kid has affected him? Maybe thinking more about spending more time with his family?
