Who is the best player we've let go in the last ten years?

Any ideas? I may do a poll. Is Long better than Doyle? Is Sidwell the best of the lot? What do you reckon?

Archie's penalty And Sidwell, Doyle and Long don't come close?

Nope

Not close enough for the answer to this question to be 'debatable' at least.

Sigurdsson > Kitson > Doyle = Sidwell > Shorey > Long.

Little would be worthy of inclusion, but he was pretty much finished when he left, so we didn't lose a lot. I may be being overly generous to Kitson given how he's been since he left, but during his time with us he was genuinely the best striker we've had whilst I've been a supporter.

Very debateable. What about Long and Doyle?

Sidwell.

A key reason why we went down the season after.

What about them?

Doyle had a duff second Prem season and a duff second half of our first season back in the Championship. Long was shit for a season and a half after we came down and average for another season's worth of play. If Kitson's career hadn't been plagued by injury he'd have scored a lot more than he did, and he still got plenty in the three and half seasons he essentially played

I also think he was technically far better than either, his skill, awareness and passing was brilliant.

Plus I've just noticed the 10 years bit...

Double shambles...

In which case, I'll say Peter Castle...

I'll go for Doyle at present but I reckon Long will soon eclipse him by quite some way.

Before he had played his first game for West Brom, one BBC correspondent went on record as saying that he reckons West Brom had got the steal of the season signing him for the price that they did. I reckon he could well be right so I hope we got a decent sell on clause as part of the deal. Meantime, West Brom look set to get a damn good return on their significant investment.

Don't forget Long was on the last year of his contract. I think Reading have done well.

We didn't let Sidwell go. He saw his contract out.

1. Sigurdsson
2. Doyle
3. Long

Maggots and little fish... We didn't let Wickham go!! His parents moved to East Anglia.

Now your facts when trying to be a smart arse.

Sidwell and Shorey are probably the best players we have had here, and Shorey was already playing below his best when he left us.

Sidwell
