it is funny though, watching all the spleen venting every year. dont know why its still surprising for them tbf.

we do exactly teh same thing every year.
sell someone.
DOOOOOOM

wait for a while to buy someone else
GLOOOOOOOM

BUY someone who theyve never heard of, or who isnt judged to be good enough
DOOOOOOOOOM

team takes a while to knit together, and the management work out how best to play with this bunch of players
GLOOOOOOOOOOOM

get someone in on loan if its still not working
DOOOOOOOOOOM

sort it out, settle down, play some good stuff, still be in with a shout of the playoffs at teh end of the season........

Would be nice if we signed what we needed before the season starts though Brenders. Or at least before we've thrown away 8 points and the Carling Cup.

This is the point - I wrote the "RFC and transfer window" thread about this issue. There was never any doubt we would buy in an experienced CB. The issue is why could we not have been sorted out by the end of July - in which case we might well now be sitting at the top of the league and in round 2 of the Cup.

Still better late than never. I just do not understand why we have had an inadequate defence until the end of August three years running.

agreed, but weve shown its not absolutely necessary.
tbf the only difference between BM and BR is that BM didnt come out and say that preseason was going on till october

I know the person who suggested Mackie was probably joking but do you think we could convince them to let us borrow him as part of his post-injury rehab?

gorkss wasnt available then, we were looking at others, trying to agree terms,
this is how teh window works, unfortunately you may want to buy quick, but the selling clubs know that, and can afford to wait till you offer more. QPR however are desperate to unload so they can bring more in, so this probably sped things up a tad

No but the pre season has certainly carried on until September last season and this.

No doubt Brian will work with the squad during the International break and we will look much better by 10th September.

Do we know that he was not available - surely QPR would have decided that he was not PL before August.

Yeah, what a "fairy-cake" for slagging off those who post so much of this shite that they drive away more rational supporters.

Assume by rational that you mean those that agree with your point of view.

No, I mean those who post the same nonsense every season.

Such as "We have no money" "The Chairmans taken all OUR money" Etc Etc Etc without a shred of evidence to support their view and EVERY season we spend money they insisted we didn't have.

I've been reading page upon page of ill informed sh*te for weeks from those who must have spent their summer riding shire horses as they insisted we wouldn't be spending any money on the squad so, this 900k transfer is one FACT that you and others can eat one pound coin at a time
