Not so great then...Spurs dont need another striker.

Actually, they do. They have Pav, Crouch and Quark - neither of whom are prolific. Sturridge would certainly improve 'Arry's options.

But in the current system Spurs play, with a flat 4 across midfield and VDV just behind the main forward, all of the above strikers will want to start and alas cannot.

So Spurs lose their best player and get Chelsea's 4th choice striker for a year.

Has Harry lost the plot?

Harry has to sell to buy. In doing so he has brought in a very good striker for a season. I think that's pretty good business. He can concentrate on replacing Modric and bring in someone else as well.

Pav, Crouch, Defoe and Sturridge us a pretty decent 4.

30 million plus Sturridge on loan is a top deal for Spurs... Depends if that 30m is upfront or installments etc though.

It's a good deal for Chelsea and Levy.

Joey Barton on his potential move to QPR: "The latest is that we are just completing the final stages of the medical, so we will just get that over and done with and then see where we are at. I have not made a final decision just yet, but speaking to the club, they have got big ambitions and I had to come down and hear what they have got to say and go through the formalities of the medical side of it just in case any deal does happen."

He really doesn't want to go.........why would QPR sign someone who doesn't actually want to be there?! :?

Ideal as if what Spurs really needed was another striker..

Exactly what they need. Someone than can play the lone striker role.

Ideal Well, they've got Crouch, Pavlyuchenko, Defoe.. until recently they had Keane too.

I don't feel like the missing piece of their puzzle is the striker, I think they have an unbalanced team.
Maybe it would have been wiser for them to sign a more stereotypical left wing who could overlap with Bale, and a pacey right-back, imho the lack of pace at right back is easy to spot, Corluka is allright and everything, but they'd be better off with someone different.

Well, Kyle Walker will probably be playing right back, so problem solved. I think having a striker which is mobile and can hold up the ball will make a difference. It should get more out of Van Der Vaart.

I don't think Left Wing is an issue Assou-Ekotto and Bale are good enough together. They may be missing someone who can break up the play and play a decent pass..Lassana Diarra.

Friedel

Walker Dawson Kaboul Assou-Ekotto

Lennon Diarra Modric Bale

Van Der Vaart

Adebayor
