TBM He's no better than Beast......

We need someone with Championship experience, not another lower league striker who we hope can make it

Sorry mate but he clearly is. Well his goalscoring record is and that's all we've got to compare him to Manset at the mo.

Actually his goals/starts ratio last season was no better than Manset's in that league.

Look at the thread title, WE'RE NOT INTERESTED IN HIM

Lol @ the morons on twitter who are still going on about us signing him despite McDermott firmly saying he's not interested.

So I reckon he'll be here soon then....

Definitely worth a dabble. Ding sign him then they should be looking top half. Only needed a centre back and a striker. With Gorkks, ALF + young Mills that would represent a decent week in my opinion.

Brian McDermott I went through 5 or 6 strikers stats.

He blatantly read my original post. 54 goals in 2 seasons. I don't care what league, look at Martin Butler, Jamie Cureton, Dave Kitson, Jason Roberts, Danny Graham, Leroy Lita....
SIGN HIM UP.

Once a goalscorer always a goalscorer...

Surely this is a higher risk than say trying to sign waghorn on loan or even mcfadden?

No, he lied to the press. Which is fair enough in my book

No he said we have no interest in him and he's not on our list.

Then he asked how you spell Le Fondre...googled it, found my original post and checked his stats. Then he grabbed the phone.

Would prefer Baldock but out of our price range.

Get it done, doesn't feel right having a team without a number 9.

Fairly tidy finishes. Reminds me of Lita in a way.

Although to be fair some of that defending makes ours look world class.

But cheap, where as the other two might want a lot more in wages.

I'd be delighted with this. Bit of a gamble. He's meant to be a little on the lazy side but so was Lita, so was Cureton, but they all can finish!

Yes please!

Rob Saton, BBC Sheffield Reading have bid for Adam Le Fondre. Another Championship team are showing interest too....
Considering the quality of the two championship clubs interested I'd say Wednesday are out.

Looks like its a definite bid from us, but up against a decent Champ rival by the sound of it.
Hopefully we'll meet the 500k valuation quickly and be the most attractive destination.

Thats exactly what we DON'T need though.......we need someone in the mould of Long and Doyle, who will run channels and close down the defence

I agree, unless we alter our style. The wingers need to do more and support the two strikers.

The other club is Coventry apparently.

depends TBM, if we play ball to feet then its not as bad, i have a feeling the long ball game was playing to our strengths i.e Longs abillity to work the channels doubling up on full back with the winger. Now we dont have that i think Brian will have to change our style of play. And a signing like this only emphasises that.
