Back from the game - Hull (A)

by RFCUK » 27 Aug 2011 18:06

On the train back to Manchester and feeling deflated. Intoxicated yes, but I don't remember a single chance on target apart from an apparent dubious offside.

Fedds was the only person not to make a mistake. Griffin.. Why? Harte.. Why..?

Very quiet from Kebe and McAnuff.. No shots, No crosses.. Nothing.. Severely lacked depth in every aspect. No running down the wings, no overlaps. No runs down the middle. No anything.

Can't remember the last time I had nothing to cheer about at a game. Barely 200 fans there. Only one song sang (embarrassing..).

Feeling quite worried if that's our standard for the season..

Feds 7
Griffing 5 - Lucky not to see red
Pearce 6
Gorks 7 look promising
Harte 6
McAnuff 6 shouldn't be captain - so we can him off
Leggs 6
Jem 6
Kebe 6 didn't see any runs worthy of reporting
Hunt 5 saw nothing from him
HRK 6 promising at best

Manset 6
Church 7

Agreed and to enable Robson-Kanu take that left wing spot, with Manset and Le Fondre up top

Defence wasn't terrible. Game of few chances, RFC fans very quiet, no creativity

Federici-7 good
Harte-6 another average performance
Pearce-7 alright
Gorkss-8 decent
Griffin-6 penalty?
Kebe-6 nothing like him
Leigertwood - 6 average
Karacan-7 alright
McAnuff-5 poor
HRK-7 most creative player
Hunt-6 average

Manset-6
Church-7

Yet some idiots on here want him replaced for a keeper who was shocking at charlton earlier this week.

Morons....you know who you are.

His command of the area was awful. Abysmal.

You are simply a fed hater and you don't even go to the games.

No, I do however have a season ticket as I have since around 1997, including a lot of away games during that period. I trust the opinions of those who went to Charlton who said his command of the area was woeful. I have also seen him on a number of other occasions and whilst he's a good shot stopper I wasn't impressed with his commanding either, people wanting an experienced solid goalkeeper who last season was attracting prem interest replaced for an understudy who has played less than 20 games for us since he's been here is frankly laughable and shows how fickle football fans are. I trust the opinion of our manager as well as my own that although federici has his weaknesses, he is number one for a very clear reason...he is currently better than anything else we have.

So you didn't see McCarthy play. That means you don't know what you're talking about. Your rules, not mine.

Played very well first half, commanding his area extremely well with some good shotstopping. Without him we'd have been 2 or 3 down by half time. Less well second half, but by then the defence might as well have not been there and he was doing it all himself, bar the odd cameo from Cummings.

You've only seen Feds play this season, I've seen both. McCarthy played better. Feds is obviously worried, according to the match commo, he actually came for some corners and crosses today.

+1
Federici is solid, Mccarthy is dodgy, good shot stopper and that's it. I would have Federici over Mccarthy any day and MCD obviously thinks so too and he knows who his number 1 is and he should know more than anyone...

That was a oxf*rd awful game involving 2 shit teams that could barely pass the ball to each other.

It make it worse as I now live in Hull and dont drive this will be the only time I get to see us this season and it was the worst game I have seen since Watford away 4 seasons ago.

Federici's command of his area has always been abysmal yet he's been our No1 for 2 seasons.

How much of an idiot does that make you :|
