Rev Algenon Stickleback H and the superbly run Bracknell go bottom of the table, losing to a side who were a complete joke last season, and had lost their opening three games 1-3, 0-5 and 1-7 this season.

What is it with Berkshire clubs being 'well run' off the field, but actually being complete mince on it.

Saw the most awful, boring and dismal 0-0 at Croydon on Saturday. Hopefully, a glut of goals when we host Dorking today. Only decision to make is whether I go to a 3pm game as well.

4-1 Salisbury. Havant dominated the first half and were unlucky to go into the break 2-1 down after a penalty as one of the last acts of the half. With Salisbury only having three attacks in the first half they looked very weak. But Havant just could not defend and Salisbury came out in the second half and scored quite early on with a very dodgy keeper not getting near the ball. Sammy Igoe then got replaced for Havant and they just went down hill from there. With one of there players getting a second yellow, and then conceding the fourth, and again the keeper didn't get near the ball.

Windsor 0-1 Dorking - bit of a shocker? - 'Chicks' have been perennial wooden-spooners in the Prem. - looked certainties for it again this year since their lodgers (Bookham) finally managed to get themselves relegated last season - takes some doing in this league. They have in fairness started better this season than they have in a long while.
CCL1
Bookham 3-1 Sheerwater
Cobham 0-4 Guernsey - was at this one - ran out of progs  head count attendance maybe 160+ - Guernsey were efficient and fit for the full 90' ; Cobham faded badly 2nd half and were too error strewn to trouble their esteemed visitors - two very late goals somewhat flattered them.

... managed to get away from Cobham Ok and a traffic-free clockwise M25/M40 meant we arrived at Old Woodstock (vs Easington Sports) in good time for KO. Much more evenly fought contest than the earlier game @ Cobham - a good full-bloodied affair between two well matched sides ended 1-1.

Not the best grounds for 'hospitality' though - officials etc friendly enough but no draught beer or even canned Bitter @ Cobham and nothing other than Carlsbarf or Tetley's at OWT - most dissapointing with all those breweries in close proximity especially at the latter - not even a barrel of Hooky kicking around! :| Even the piddly little club huts in the North Baaarks League can usually keep a polypin of Abingdon Beer hidden away somewhere? Good Burger though ..... 8)

I made the mistake of watching Bracknell lose 0-3 at home to Wokingham. A pretty poor game to say the least, with Bracknell exceptionally dire.

I do wonder if there's any club in the country that's been as consistently terrible in recently history as Bracknell.

Their last 7 seasons have seen the finish 3rd from bottom, 4th from bottom, 4th from bottom, 3rd from bottom, 2nd from bottom, dead last, and 7th from bottom (after relegation). Those 7 seasons saw them notch up an average goal difference of -47.

OK, some of that terrible average GD is due to the last place two years ago, where they lost 40 of 42 games, recording a final goal difference of -158, but it's still appalling.

And this season they are last place too.

Last time they had a season not battling relegation and weren't rubbish, Kevin Watson was still in our midfield.

That is BIG result for Maiders, fingers crossed that they keep it going

In the league above....big spending Fleetwood (trying to emulate Crawley, big signings an' all) are beaten yet again

probably Andover

But unlike Bracknell (just yet), they have gone down the pan this season

Windsor 0-1 Dorking - bit of a shocker?

Well, a right crap BH weekend for Windsor that's for sure!

88th minute goal did for us although another uninspiring 0-0 draw would have been fair result. Both 'keepers made some decent saves so the game wasn't without incident but things definitely aren't clicking for Windsor yet. Mind you, losing 2 strikers to injury didn't help matters.

There's lots of experience of higher leagues in the team but probably carrying a few too many years.

I remember going to Larges Lane 2 seasons ago to watch Windsor beat them 5-1 IIRC. Their midweek attendance was a paltry 28 whereas on the Saturday this was swelled to 188.

Already heard/read a few comments from Windsor fans claiming Keith Scott has no contacts at the level Windsor are at. I cannot see him lasting the season if Windsor do not go up.

I was at that game. My record at their games is impressive. In 9 attempts, not only have I never seen them win, I've only seen them let in less than three goals once.

Bracknell 0 Reading Res 3 (Berks & Bucks cup)
Bracknell 3 Aldershot Town 3 (in Aldershot Town's first season)
Bracknell 3 Egham 3
Bracknell 0 Barnet 3 (FA Cup 4th Qualifying Round)
Bracknell 1 Andover 1
Bracknell 0 North Leigh 9
Bracknell 1 Windsor & Eton 5
Binfield 8 Bracknell 0
Bracknell 0 Wokingham 3

I can only assume there is rather less than no money at Bracknell as its quite unbelievable how they've collapsed out of the SL and now look like prime candidates to drop out of the HPL. No manager seems able to build any sort of useful squad there and even if someone useful is found they don't seem to manage more than a few games before leaving.

They decided at the start of last season to no longer pay players, so their whole financial structure is different to what it was in the past. They're no longer trying to go for success and hang the consequences, but concentrating on youth development and staying in business.
