Arsenal supposedly in advanced talks to sign Germany centre-back Per Mertesacker from Bremen.

Meireles was brilliant for Liverpool back end of last season, I guess its a straight choice between him and Henderson at the moment, given the way Liverpool have started you can understand Dalglish sticking with the latter. Not sure why Liverpool would want to sell him though.

Stoke have apparently made a cheeky bid to take Chelsea's new signing Lukaku on loan for the season. That would be a huge coup if it came off.
