Obviously the "Mertersacker" deal is going through.......Im glad Arsenal weren't bullied by Bolton though. Cahill is good but with a year left on his contract he's not worth £18m

Lets be honest.. he could, probably only Man Utd, Man City, Chelsea, Liverpool and Spurs are the squads he couldn't get into.

I doubt that many Premiership clubs would be willing to pay him the wages he would expect to receive, having seen how ineffective he has been for the past couple of years.

Lille are a very good side though - its not as if he's done a Bellamy and dropped down a division

Fair play to him for being willing to move to a foreign club. Far too many players sit on the bench/stands at premiership clubs watching their wallet get fatter instead of actually challenging themselves a bit.
