A lot of managers have voiced their disdain with the transfer window, but I do kind of enjoy deadline day... it's rather exciting.

When the Everton fans were calling for a big name signing, I'm not sure that's what they meant

Personally if it was my decision I'd scrap the stupid things immediately. They're one of the worst things in the game and are one of the main causes of ridiculous prices, not to mention being a clear case of restrictive practice.

Villas-Boas apparently leading a growing number of managers who want to keep the windows and in fact want them to close earlier in the summer, to avoid any disruption whatsoever on squads during the season itself.

Couldn't agree more with this one - if the transfer windows are here to stay then they should shut at the end of July IMO (although I'd rather scrap them all together).

BBC Sport ToonLad on Twitter: "Just spotted a familiar face outside Newcastle's training ground, won't say who, just wait and see."

Seriously???? It's probably just his parole officer coming to check up on him.

Hmm i dont agree - having it at the end of August gives teams time to scout players for the new season. They may have been shit/injured/in a lower league etc last season and so teams want to see how they do in the 3-4 weeks of the new season before splashing out millions on him.
