Couldn't agree more with this one - if the transfer windows are here to stay then they should shut at the end of July IMO (although I'd rather scrap them all together).

Hmm i dont agree - having it at the end of August gives teams time to scout players for the new season. They may have been shit/injured/in a lower league etc last season and so teams want to see how they do in the 3-4 weeks of the new season before splashing out millions on him.

I'm with troli on this, if there has to be a transfer window let everyone have their squad sorted out before the season. Add to it in January if you have to. Having the transfer window close when there's international qualifiers on is just rank stupidity.
