Compo's Hat .....i think they're just trying to hang around us to look cool but yet don't join in with chants and expect people like me and floyd to entertain them.

My god, things are bad!

Even worse that they all know my name yet i don't know most of theirs!

Sure its not that bad Campo

Next to me at the top of y26, have about 3 people to my right, who don't actually watch the match but just stare at the away fans for 90mins mouthing swear words, then leave early for both half time and full time.

You pay the same as they do. So how does not looking at the away fans make you a better fan :?:

Not saying their worse fans, just saying that some people are more concerned with what the away support is doing than the actual match.

The drummer and his sidekick need to put in some effort too. They couldn't be arsed last game..

LoyalRoyalFan 'Stand up if you love Reading'

Kin hell but that gets on my tits. Every time the tangoes start off up the steps to tell someone to sit down. I paid for a seat in an all seater stadium and I'm fecking well going to sit in it, do they really think people are stupid enough that they have to stand just because some spotty little oiks sing a pathetic song?

On another note, stewards seemed to dishing it out today with all the standing in Y26?

credit where credit's due, i have to say that although we were quiet for long periods, the noise that carried across to gu4 was quite impressive. i don't know if it always carries across like that but i've sat in the south before and hardly heard y25/26. it's a shame we can't ever keep the noise going though. it's a small stadium with steep stands and the noise is right on top of the players. people's opinions of our support could be so different if we made more noise more often. i was also surprised at how much the upper west try to get involved. ok, it was mostly clapping, but a few sang as well. it made a nice change to sit somewhere else and there were smaller half-time queue's, we left the ground quicker and we could walk down the slope rather than have to walk the long way around.

Anyone who attempts to generate an atmosphere in the East Stand is an idiot.

You are asking to be taken out for "a talking to" or worse removed and eventually banned for standing and singing. I really don't see why a blind eye can't be turned to the top of Y25 like it is as every other ground in the country.

For these reasons, I now sit in the Lower West and will only clap or stand if we score. I just got fed up of over the top stewarding.

Don't blame the fans for a lack of atmosphere, blame Clive Doyle. Though to be fair to Mr. Doyle he is only doing his job. Whoever is telling Clive Doyle and the Stewarding Team to remove people for standing and the occasional gesture is the real person to blame for the lack of atmosphere.

I'll make do with my comfy seat in the West Stand away from the Orange Jacketed Mongs.

Surely the club and the fans need to work together to sort this situation out?

if that was aimed at me then i have sat in y25 and 26 for the best part of 13 years and before that 10 years under the old south bank. i opted for a move across to gu4 yesterday purely because i sometimes take a child with me and the last home game it was getting a bit over the top in y25 and kicking of seats and the language was a bit much for the littlen. a change was nice but the atmosphere is a key part of the day for me so we will be back for m'boro.

Will never happen, yesterday was a great example of how the fans got behind the team from the off and the team obviously reacted then in step the bloody stewards asking all to sit down and from then the noise levels died.

I think it is ridiculous and definately poses a problem when it comes to trying to generate some sort of atmosphere.

Can anyone explain what the reason is for not being able to stand up? Yes i have heard for health and safety reasons, but say there was a genuine fire drill would everyone not get out quicker if standing?
