if arsene fails to win at the lane in a fortnight's time he will be a goner, not a gooner.

I dont think Arsenal will do anything this season - but if he fails with winning 4th place then he will be gone come May

That's his reference point - CL qualification and try to get to later stages of the cups. Fail at that and he is gone.

Talk about giving a man a chance.....

Why is it always the manager who goes, and not the players

Let's hope Capello is approached and accepts!

I did think that at the time of posting!

Not a complete shock but looking at the comments under the videos on their "section" on the BBC sport website made me smile:

We made too many mistakes - O'Driscoll
We didn't play well enough - O'Driscoll
O'Driscoll bemoans second half perfomance
Rovers not good enough - O'Driscoll

Can we stop wasting time and just put Steve McLaren's name in here now?

Reading claim another managerial scalp!

I'd be interested* to see the stats on who the last opponent a manager faced before being sacked was - would rate us to be quite high up the list.

*but not interested enough to do it myself

McDermott must be in the top 4-5 longest serving managers in the division now, that's crazy.

Sean O'Driscoll - linked with us wasn't he? How quickly manager's stock rises and falls.

Donny will do no better.

It does worry me when we managed to claim so many scalps.

Are chairmen thinking 'oxf*rd hell we lost to Reading, he's got to go'?

That is bonkers! O'Driscoll is a good manager and his sides play some lovely football. Not sure why it's suddenly gone wrong at Doncaster though. But Saunders? That is mental. Bye bye Donny.

Must be - how many managers tend to get sacked after losing to Man United?

Not a manager but Ridsdale has jumped ship at Argyle.
