Tails

Tails I'd probably agree with you on Moyes.

Yeah, let's have a Scotsman! Great!

Why does this matter?

Because he's Scottish?

I don't think someone from the UK is a problem... I don't really want anyone from the continent though.

I'm not sure why football seems to have a 'thing' about foreign managers/coaches, not the same in other sports in my experience.

Maybe if he had another year, so he could get Southampton going well in the prem. Pards is probably going to be in with a shout if Newcastle finish top half.

It's not just a 'thing' about foreign managers though it's about a rivalry between the two countries. Whether or not people find that pathetic I really couldn't give a monkeys.

Handsome Man International management has little to do with club management, so it seems a waste of time getting in people who have won championships or the shitty champion's league.

England's best ever two managers both had success at domestic level before stepping up to England.

I'd have Wenger over Redknapp.

Other than Alex Ferguson no one is better placed and experienced enough in the English game to manage England than Arsene Wenger. Yes please!

There really is no stand out candidate. I can't stand Redknapp and he's only ever 'good' when he's got a shedload of money to spend and he can buy a ton of players and bankrupt whichever club has been stupid enough to emply our 'arry. Obviously can't do that with England so it's about getting the best out of the group you've got. I also think in this game now the person has to have something big on the CV as a player or manager. Got to be able to deal with multi millionaires and where McLaren failed I believe was partly down to the players thinking this guy was the assistant last time and what has he done? Who is he to tell me what to do?

Not neccesarily the best club manager will make the best international manager and vise versa. Good example would be Lawrie Sanchez who with Northern Ireland made them into a useful effective side but thus far has had more failures at club level than successes. So just because someone may not have won the Premiership as a manager doesn't neccesarily mean they'd be poor as an England manager. I do think though the manager needs to be at worst British and best English.

Alan Shearer maybe? I think Pearce would get everyone's support but I'm really not sure he has the tactical nouse to manage anything more important than the u21s. I still can't get over David James up front. Martin O Neil perhaps, got 2 sides that were midtable at best into strong positions in English football in Leicester and Villa. Paul Ince?! might sound ridiculous but at least Ince has experience at the top level, wouldn't shirk a big decision, would claim instant respect from the players. Dunno really scraping the barrel.

Didn't Ince struggle at Blackburn because he wouldn't take shit from the players and would deal out harsh punishments?

In the end he lost the dressing room, not sure how well his style would work for the national team.

If Brendan Rogers isn't willing to give up his contract with Swansea, I'd plump for either MO'N or Moyes.

Last time around i got laughed at for saying Roy Hodgson should get the job. Then he works miracles at Fulham and the press were all over him for the England job. I still think he is a very intelligent manager who is totally cut out for International Management, he has a wealth of knowlege having managed in so many countries. The bloke got totally sht on at Liverpool and deserves a crack with England.

Plus with his academy going well in Spain, we may well see some better football being played

As long as the disableds dont pop along to watch, he'll be good.

Hoddle must have done something really bad in an earlier life to be considered for the manager's role again.
