PieEaterPhil Neville "Rooney banned for three games what a joke - if it was a Dutch, Spanish, Italian or German player they wouldn't even get one game #fact."
I tend to agree with him, except it's an opinion not a fact. A petulant rather than malicious act but an easy target for the England hating authorities to throw the book.
I know Neville is a friend of Rooney's so would expect him to back Wayne up but other players would get a ban of sorts....even UEFA/FIFA wouldn't stop a ban based on which country the player comes from.
Doubt Rooney's previous record of red cards helped him and it was violent conduct without being provoked.
Its the timing that makes this worse naturually (depending on your personal view ofcourse)
One could argue Rooney hasn't bothered to turn up in a major tournament for a whille and maybe an extended rest will actaully get him determined to impress when allowed to play....if the team get through the group.
