Just seen the tackle on SSN, what a disgusting challenge.
McLeish's defence seemed to be that once Hutton had launched himself off the ground it would be unfair to expect him to be able to control the severity of the assault in Long.

Yes. We want compo off Hutton and Villa as Long won't be getting the goal-scoring and League position targets that entitle us to an enhanced transfer fee that will allow us to buy another striker

Yes. It's also why it's not supposed to matter whether you connect with the player or take the ball cleanly. You still get a red, a la Gunnarsson.
