Yeah all makes sense looking at the deal in isolation, I'm just wondering if I'm missing something as to the difference between this deal and a two-year loan where Roma paid all his wages, except for the obvious, that Roma pocket €1m in two years.

On this:

rhroyal Sounds almost better than a loan as Barca don't have to take him back if he's not up to the task.

The repurchase is obligatory, so if he's shit he goes back to Barca.

After a Sunday of terrible 0-0 matches, what a Rome derby that was!

Lazio are building a reputation of coming from behind to win so early in the season and what a cool finish from Klose to win it in injury time. Was a soft penalty though i thought.

Where most leagues look predictable, Serie A looks like it could have a whole host of teams going for the title this season.

It was a very random weekend in Serie A, yesterday Inter lost again and Napoli lost at home and today there were 7 games, 5 0-0s, four red cards and a last minute winner in the Rome derby. Good stuff.

I was under the impression Barca aren't forced to buy him back for 13mil but have a clause that allows him to if they actually do want him back, to quote sky sports - "Bojan is not sure what the long-term future holds in store for him, after Barcelona inserted a buy-back clause in the deal agreed with Roma allowing them the option to re-sign him for €13million before the end of the 2012/13 season"

Edit - Just found a old bbc article and Barca have the option to buy him back but dont have to and the only way roma can stop that is by paying 32mil

Feyenoord let slip a fantastic opportunity to beat Ajax for the first time since 05/06, leading 1-0 and Ajax down to 10 in the Amsterdam Arena, finished 1-1

Bit more of a normal week in Serie A although AC Milan had to come back from 3-0 down at Leece to win 4-3, Boateng's second goal of his hat trick is really worth seeing!

Udinese now top going into the midweek round of fixtures, they've just been quietly moving along and like Juventus are yet to lose this season. Lazio looked very comfortable in their win at bologna tonight.

Levante are heading top of La Liga as it stands

The entire continent's gone about as mad as a oxf*rd March hare, hasn't it

AFAIK Levante have Koné on loan from Sevilla** for the entire season, and there really wouldn't be any downside to that for them

**brave show from them @ Camp Nou on Saturday

Sevilla are fourth after scoring just 8 goals from 8 games :?

They've won all of their home games by 1 goal and have drawn all their away games.

Would've lost on Saturday if it wasn't for Messi missing an injury time penalty. Kanoute and Navarro both sent off for Sevilla, also in injury time.

Juventus back to the top of Serie A for now after beating Fiorentina 2-1. Sinisa Mihajlovic under a lot of pressure now to keep his job. If it wasn't for the brilliant Jovetic he might have gone already!

Saw some of the highlights of that, looked like Juve could have been 5 up by half-time. Great finish from Jovetic and fantastic work from Pepe to set up Juventus' second.

Levante stay top with a 93rd minute winner against Real Sociedad. That's 7 straight wins now.

Watched Genoa v Roma tonight. All Roma after Genoa showed Roma how to have a shot when an opening is there, they really are like watching Arsenal these days under Luis Enrique. Deserved equaliser after all the pressure and possession they had only to give Genoa the win from a corner soon after. Really enjoyable game!

Two points separating the top five now after Lazio and Udinese both failed in their chance to go top and Inter could only register a point to keep them only two points above the drop zone.

Comfortable win for Palermo tonight, Leece just didn't bring their shooting boots with them to the island.

Think they might need a miracle come the end of the season.

Another win for Lazio on the road tonight to stay in touch with the teams up the top, Klose is turning out to be the signing of the summer!

Inter only a point off the drop after getting beat by Juventus last night and Cesena have sacked their manager after failing to gain a win so far this season going down 2-0 in Parma today.

Cavani scores inside of a minute away to Catania on Saturday nite, but the islanders walk out 2-1 winners as Napoli are reduced to ten men with scores level on 43'

Milan well bedded in amongst the lead pack and finished with ten on the pitch themselves but still won 2-3 away to Roma on Saturday

With about a quarter of the season gone and as matters stand, I don't see a way up and out for Cesena (nor for Granada in Spain, for that matter --although the two have conceded a creditable 12 and 11 times, respectively, thru 9 matches each, but it's looking awfully grim for both)

RM top the Spanish table, with Barcelona remaining a point behind, as they walk out of San Sebastian winners 0-1 over Sociedad and then wait a day to see Levante fall 2-0 to Osasuna in Pamplona as the hosts hold onto their two-goal edge while playing a man down for the final half-hour

Betis lose again, this time 1-0 away to Santander --so that makes six in a row after winning their first four out of the gate

Interesting weekend in the Eredivisie :!:
