Shouldn't have had them sent off then. Drogba's was just stupid beyond belief and Bosingwa's was basic.

That Chelsea can't screw over the fans that helped them out, then sell Stamford Birdge for a huge profit and move somewhere else

or 'some' of the fans who bought shares to help the club out when they weren't well off are now looking to make a nice tidy profit and screwing the club over for money.

Chelsea fans I know just don't want to move from The Bridge and I'm glad this has happened.

One thing I can't understand is why it is necessary to sell off the ground first, before getting a new plot of land to build on?
After all Abramovich is supposedly rolling in cash, why can't he buy new land first, start construction, and then sell the old ground later?

I think that seems illogical to the chelsea fans, and that's why they voted "no".

I think the name 'Chelsea' runs with the ground and so your scenario above would only work if RA was prepared to risk losing the right to call the club 'Chelsea'.

Well, duh - I think I was implying that you are the dunce here.

Why does he need to sell the ground first? Perhaps any council worth their salt will acknowledge the peculiarities surrounding naming rights of the team and so granting planning permission will not be so forth coming - who wants a white elephant in their back yard...in London of all places.

There are certain behaviours of the super rich which are indicators as to why they are super rich, they don't just throw money away.

Some official from the CPO was on the radio yesterday and said they are not against it at all and that a move will take the club forward, just that the 23 day discussion period was too quick and they want more involvment in the talks. SSN then showed some CPO matey outside the stadium last night chanting 'we won't go'

I think they are more mixed up than that lot outside St Pauls

Basically, they want more discussion time with Ron Gourlay and Bruce Buck, so they can have assurances over the clubs long term future - that is all. Chelsea FC got 61% of the vote but needed 75% to buy back. It will happen eventually, after more talks.

Shame to see another club wanting to leave their ground. Although understandable with the low capacity in comparision to other big clubs. Is there any potential to expand SB?

Limited, because Bates thought it would be a wizard wheeze to sell land right next to the ground for flats and a hotel.
