Barry the bird boggler The comedy continues at Bracknell where 6th placed Slimbridge put 6 without reply past the hapless Robins in last nights Hellenic Premier game at Larges Lane.
Bracknell now have 4 points from a possible 45 this season and are already effectively 8 points from safety. For the record they have managed 8 goals this season (and three of those arrived in their visit to Holyport) and let in 59.
...was at this - the Robins really are very much out of their depth.
- although they were even humiliated 5-1 in the Cup at Div One West Lydney last Sat.
I don't think the straight Red shown to the witlessly petulant full-back (and Skipper
) early on 2nd half made much of a difference - it just let Slimbridge coast for longer periods. Bracknell strive and struggle but have no cohesion middle or back - drift out of position constantly and had no answer to Slimbridge 'big unit' up front - who did everything but score for 94 mins; then knocked the ball in from about 6" with the last kick of the game - much to everyone's hilarity.
Poor ol' Martin Hutt in goal is rolling back the years and isn't as agile as he was but could do very little about the barrage of clear chances Bracknell presented to their visitors.
I really fear for them tomorrow too, as I suspect Highworth are bigger and uglier than Slimbridge in all departments - we could be seeing double figures again.
Only bright spark is the acquisition of Jon Palmer back at the club on dual-reg from Godalming - he looked very lively up front but was given little support. At least they are trying to get some more experienced players in, to bolster up what is a very young side.
