sandman The tripping over the ball and general clumsiness were pretty good indicators that he was struggling with the step up. Who knows? He's still young and has time on his side but right now he's fifth choice here and doesn't look like he's going up the pecking order too fast.

Turns8 McCarthy to Leeds for a month...

Simon's Church He's started 2 Championship games hasn't he? That's hardly a lot of evidence that he's not good enough.

Z175 It will be good for McCarthy and therefore probably for Reading fc but my main concern is what if he makes man of the match performances to pick up valuable points that see them pip us by 1 point into 6th?

He's only been picked twice for one obvious reason.

The bigger concern for me is who he might impress if he has a few good games and looks the part.
He won't want to be sat around here on the bench for too long and if other clubs see him perform well in a different environment at Leeds then he'll pick up some more admirers and we could rick losing him in the near future.
A bit worrying that McDermott said he wanted to do what was right by Alex (fair enough in many respects) and that McCarthy was very excited at thought of going up there and getting some games.

roadrunner McCarthy impresses at Leeds, experiences passionate support from the Revie End and leaves in January for a measly £1m.
This might not end well.
