Don't forget that the price for Carroll was always going to be £15m less than Liverpool managed to squeeze out of Chelsea for Torres. It's only as much as it was because Chelsea were willing to pay so much for their part of the deal.

Fwiw I think Suarez will score 20 goals this season, which would be a fine return given the number of assists he will also get. He had a very good scoring record at Ajax, so it's too soon to write him off as a goalscorer for Liverpool anyway, it's not like he isn't getting chances.
