cmonurz Harpers So Solid Crew cmonurz Were I John Madejski, I'd seriously question how, with the business aptitude to sell Auto Trader at a massive profit,
Umm he was offered a silly amount for Autotrader, no one has offered a silly amount for RFC. His business aptitude may be why we sold a few players at a high price in the last few years. Selling high is easy if the offer is there, getting the item to sell is the harder part, and a lot of that is down to luck, as otherwise every club could do it.
His sale of Auto Trader was just an example, my point as you surely know is that
Madejski is a successful businessman, yet seemingly failed or fails to grasp that this club for sell-able in the Premier League and is significantly less so now. From a business perspective, the potential ROI was far greater when we were a top flight club.
So if he's got his business hat on, I'm sure he'll be very unhappy. As a football fan and owner of the club that has kept it's nose above water and enjoyed some decent seasons since relegation, maybe he'll be happier, but I approached your question from the perspective of Madejski's stated aim to sell the club.
But, apart from his Auto Trader success, is he?
Printing business? spunked £87,000,000 at last count and still massive operating losses.
Station Hill? Lost a small fortune on that one
Hotel? In the red
Etc, Etc, Etc .......
Would agree about his potential ROI on RFC being far higher if we are in the top flight.
Only place we made an operating profit in recent years without selling players (before accountancy charges of course
)
