Ark Royal Singh Sabha Slough just rolls off the tongue.

I played against their Sunday team in the Thames Valley League Cup a few years back. Thought it was going to be nasty but they were probably the nicest teams I ever played against.

... possible I might make this one too -

- though I usually get well delayed on a Tuesday dropping off youngest at Cubs - this week I think I'm s'posed to double-check his medical details are recorded properly, before he goes off on Winter camp with them to IoW in a week or two. That could take forever, since all the parents will be trying to do the same, as well as dropping off their kids and scrambling around with permission slips/project papers and other junk - all in an entrance hall the size of a medium-sized lift! :evil:

... really does tend to c@ck my Midweek football up; especially this week - when the other half has claimed rights over Monday (so no Binfield replay :( ) and I'm not sure there's much - if anything - on round here on Wednesday. :|

... Worst comes to worst I'd still be able to get to other league games nearby at RTFC, Bracknell, Ascot or Cove - also quite liked the idea of the Vase replay up at Wantage - but that's just as far as Farnham - and far worse if the M4 is mis-behaving.

May still aim for Farnham - haven't been back this season, last visit was Feb '11- nice ground set down below the road; though if you've not been before, the parking can be a bit 'dubious'.

They do have their own small car park off the main rd (A325 West St - once you've negotiated the one-way system) but I've never tried to find the way into it; usually try and park up in the car park next to the big white Council Arts/Leisure-thingy via the roundabout past the other side of the ground (fairly sure its free after a certain time but might be worth checking on the night) - there's a turnstile over there too : - otherwise I think the main entrance to the ground is via the Social Club.

Might see you there - or not! :?

Elmer Park Reading Town at home to Cowes Sports in the third round of the FA Vase.

Spooky I was just thinking about the draw - here's the 'southern' part - - one or two groundshares around so maybe a Fri/Sun tie?

... matches to be played w/e 3rd/4th Dec

Hanworth Villa v Herne Bay
Bethnal Green United v Sporting Bengal United
Newport Pagnell Town v Godmanchester Rovers
Southend Manor v Three Bridges
Haringey Borough v Royston Town
Long Buckby v Leverstock Green or Enfield 1893
Ringmer or Binfield v Flackwell Heath
VCD Athletic v Tunbridge Wells
Witham Town v Wisbech Town
Lancing v Ampthill Town
South Park v Diss Town
Peacehaven & Telscombe v St Ives Town
Willand Rovers or Highworth Town v Falmouth Town AFC
Bemerton Heath Harlequins v Shortwood United
Bournemouth v Barnstaple Town
Old Woodstock Town v Alton Town or Wantage Town
Ilfracombe Town v Bodmin Town or Larkhall Athletic
Bitton AFC v Christchurch
Reading Town v Cowes Sports

...sadly a distinct lack of 'new' grounds for me amongst that lot.

I'm sure Reading Town made it to the third round last season when they got knocked out by Cadbury Heath as almost certain the game I went to against Warlingham was in the second round.

First Tower Utd are/were from Jersey - not sure if they're still around though.

...correct - I only looked on FCHD - which I think stopped being updated regularly a couple of years. (actually 05-06)
Then the ISP started getting arsey about the cost of hosting it and the chap had to put it into hiatus - sadly he hasn't found the backing to ressurrect it yet, so for historic results you either have to hunt around on the 'tonykempster' archives or its temporary successor. The new site 'nonleaguematters' doesn't seem to have built up its archive sections yet either.

- oddly enough there seems to be a complete gap for last years competitions - and the official FA site is sh!te - so I checked back on Mitoo for the Hellenic League to confirm what you had posted was of course correct. 8)

RE First Tower - they were relegated for the first time in their History from Jersey's First Division in 2008.

... and guess what ..... from a bbc report a few years back -

First Tower found fame on a national scale thanks to the late Blackburn owner Jack Walker. He bought the club in the 1990s and invested heavily in the side, making their La Hague Manor ground one of the best in Jersey football.

... they made the 3rd round of the Vase three times too. Seem to have made it back into the 9 team 'Premiership' for 11/12 season - currently 7th.

That could be an excellent game. Binfield play really good football and Suarez is a class act in the middle of the park for them. Whereas, Flackwell are extremely well organised. Big and strong which could produce and entertaining game of football.

Looking forward to Farnham tonight. Thanks for the tip on car parking FoC. Will bear that in mind.

Is that his punishment for the alleged contretemps with Evra or was he fined too?

Looks as if South Kilburn could be in trouble with the CCL. Apparently, Police were called to their game at Westfield.

Better news, a bumper crowd of 213 were at Stag Meadow to see Windsor consolidate 2nd place 2 points behind Guildford. What with Egham and Hanworth Villa in close pursuit - the latter with about 28 games in hand, it looks like an exciting second half of the season beckons.

AND... Windsor v Egham Town on Tuesday 27th December (1.00pm kick off) is free admission to all. Turnstiles open at about 11:30am.

...quite simply - I don't - always. :P Luckily we juggle our respective hobbies and the three kids have activities that either fit in or don't; for one or other, or sometimes both of us - then we really are crabby!
We've not managed to 'lose' one of them anywhere yet either - which is more by luck than judgement. 8)

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
... however yesterday's scores as follows:-
FA Trophy 3rd Qualifying Round
17 Farnborough 2-2 Bury Town
19 Sutton United 1-2 Basingstoke Town
20 Banbury United 0-0 Wealdstone
21 Bishop’s Stortford 1-1 Tonbridge Angels
23 Chelmsford City 2-0 Woking
24 Bromley 1-3 Didcot Town v. good result vs a side two STEPS above them – though there a few other scores around that could suggest some Conference sides aren’t taking this competition too seriously.
25 Folkestone Invicta 1-3 Staines Town
27 Eastbourne Borough 0-0 Dartford
28 Thurrock 0-5 AFC Hornchurch
29 Uxbridge 2-1 Histon
31 Hampton & Richmond Borough 4-2 Canvey Island
32 Brackley Town 2-0 Chertsey Town
33 Maidenhead United 1-0 Billericay Town
34 Boreham Wood 1-0 Dover Athletic
36 Gloucester City 1-1 Truro City
37 Salisbury City 2-0 Weston Super Mare
.. actually decided to forgo the pleasure of Stourbridge (FA Cup Voucher scheme/’bundle’ in operation for home fans plus segregation plus no Bar available to any but guests and officials – instead went on an even longer trek down to Tiverton v Swinedon Supermarine - ground pleasant enough food OK bar adequate; however the football itself was *&^%. Ended 0-1 - settled by a fluke ricochet og in the 88’ without an away forward in proximity.
ISTH1S
Fleet Town 3-1 Aylesbury
Rugby Town 1-2 Beaconsfield SYCOB
Slough Town 4-3 Ashford Town (Middx)
SOUTH1S&W
Hungerford Town 1-3 Mangotsfield United – ‘Crusaders' on an awful run now since topping the table and being unbeaten only a month or so back – lost 4 in 5 and have slumped down to 4th place.
Westfield 3-1 South Kilburn - as TB said Ol' Bill called in - reportedly the 4th time SK have been 'sanctioned' already this season - no details officially released yet but seems to have been a Racist abuse-tag being bandied around and the league's official weekly Bulletin has been delayed pending the appropriate explanation being properly worded I s'pose? Don't recall any issues with them when they were in the Hellenic but then again maybe the underlying 'issue' wasn't so prevalent i.e there's possibly a lower ethnic minority representation in teams playing further West at this level?
Magic result for Didcot where on loan Reading FC 16 year old Uchechukwu Ikpeazu was the star of the show scoring a belter for the 2nd goal and being generally far too good for Bromley.
I'm going to the game with Bridgwater tomorrow they aren't sure if he can play, shame. Having witnessed Diddy get spanked 4-0 at home by SHoling last Tuesday I still cant' quite believe they went and won at a Blue Square South side. i wouldn't have backed them to beat the Blue Square Staff XI.
I'm going to Willand Rovers on saturday for a 3rd round FA Vase game, Falmouth are the visitors, i think they are two leagues below Willand, who are top, but it's difficult to work out, should be a decent day out.
.... Not sure there's a 2 STEP gap: The SWP feeds the Western but it's Premier Division is designated Step06 so technically only 1 below.
General view in Anorak world is that the SWP is one of the strongest at that level and that the majority of it's best clubs would probably rather NOT move over to the Western.
They don't all have backers like Truro to cover the traveling costs.
Oddly enough this is our Plan A too for next Sat - only 'new' ground in the leagues we currently 'target' so if youre unlucky you might see us there! 8)
