Actually, I think it’s good people exorcise their right to critique our national broadcaster. Did the comments cause the planet to explode? No. Did they breach impartiality? Yes. Did they lend credence to violent reaction? Yes. Were they clumsily suggesting foreign players are less respectful? Yes.

Probably not usually in play when he has the ball. I think it's overstating it to say he was definitely taking the piss. He may well have been just stood there killing time and decided to fiddle with his socks because he could.
Whether it was deliberate or not, it was still very funny, the challenge was still a stupid over-reaction and definite red card, and we still won.
