For

- the worst team ever.
- the worst I can remember
- and all the other senseless negative crap on this board

we aren't doing too badly.

No RTGs (unless the R stands for Realistic) on me this morning, just an observation of the facts and the true state of the nation.

Well, dur... Doing the double over teams doesn't happen a great deal over the course of a season.

Get your head out of your ass a minute, Ian.

We are not talking about first winning at home and then winning away.

We are talking about first winning away and then failing to win the home match.

Wins at home are FAR more common. Sides who win away are usually the better sides (overall, in the league)
and it is reasonable, logical, and "based on form" that, having already won the away leg and "shown superiority"
that they would have a very good chance of winning the second (home) game.

"But they don't." At least not as often as they should. (IF the stat I HEARD OF, is, in fact, accurate.)

Well I apologise, it seemed pretty freaking obvious to me. But as it turns out (where we're concerned, at least) it's bollox. Maybe that's because we've finished top 9 in all of the last seven seasons, bar one.

As far as I can make out, over the last 8 seasons, we've won away before the home game 27 times and we've subsequently won at home 20 times. We didn't even get the opportunity to test it in 08/09 because we didn't win an away game until gone halfway through the season.

We've done it in every possible game the last two seasons + the first in the prem, and + the title season (unsurprisingly)

Does this mean we're getting a tasty 12 points from Brizzle, Leicester, Ipswich & Burnley? I hope so.

Ian, it's a stat I was told about years ago

Back in the days when winning the pools was the biggest deal in town

I've never properly tested it, and second, three-points-for-a-win may well have changed things

Brighton (H) - D Their style of play could be a factor
Ipswich (H) - W Should have too much in the locker
Cardiff (A) - L They will want to prove something after the Play Off Semi last seaso
Watford (A) - D Wake me up when the game has finished
Hull (H) - D Could lose this as Barmby is performing a minor miracle since he took over from Pearson
Bristol (H) - W On a good run since McInnes took over but very ordinary at the back. Keep Maynard quiet and the 3 points should be in the bag
9 Points

It's really difficult to predict anything in this league with so many teams being so inconsistent and yet all capable on their good days.

The next 6 games could go either way but whatever the outcome they won't really dictate the season too much because a decent run come the end of the season could put most teams on the fringes of the play offs.

Ipswich (H) - 1-0
Cardiff (A) - 1-2
Watford (A) - 1-1
Hull (H) - 2-0
Bristol (H) - 1-1

W3 D2 L1 8-4 11 points would do me.

We have won the brighton game so for the next 5 im going to be optimistic

Ipswich - W
Cardiff - D
Watford - D (always a poor game from what i remember)
Hull - W
Bristol - W

I cant see us doing anything but win all our home games at the moment although hull are a strong team and getting a point from that would still be a good result in my eyes

This would make us 14 points from 18!!! (12 if we draw to hull) Would be chuffed if this is the return we get
