TalkSPORT has been embarrassing today with Liverpool fans moaning about the 1 match ban he is getting, despite the fact he admitted he was guilty

Takes a chunk out of Ottman Bakkal (then of PSV), brazen cheating in a world cup match and unashamedly rubbing salt in the wounds, found guilty of racism and refuses to accept he's done anything wrong, sticks his finger up at some of the most impassive fans in English football for daring to suggest the morality of his activities on a football pitch. The man is highly volatile, bordering on unstable which leads me to think that he will one day be banned for much longer than the impending 9 games that awaits.

I personally wish the whole Evra thing had happened in Holland with Evra (or equivalent) playing for Feyenoord, with me present at De Kuip for his next appearance. Old Trafford will have to do I suppose...

Yep and Man United fans are all from Surrey or Asia, Chelsea fans are all glory hunters who only started supporting them after Abramovich took over and all Arsenal fans are French crybabies.

This latest ban seems a bit OTT if you ask me.

Who else has been banned for similar offences? I don't remember Matt Mills or Fjortoft getting a ban or fine.

There seem to be quite a few other examples of players doing similar things and getting away with it. Is the implication that Suarez has been banned because of his previous?

They've called it "improper conduct" though, which means they can whack a ban on......similar to Rooney last season when he scored against West Ham and swore - its just Suarez did it via a gesture than words.

Did anyone complain to the FA when others did it?

Surely at least one Reading fan must have ratted out Mills?

Written reasons issued with regards to Suarez's ban.

Have only skim-read it thus far, but it appears to suggest that the FA simply didn't believe that Suarez would be using conciliatory language towards Evra after they had clashed over a foul.

"Given the number of times that Mr Suarez used the word 'negro', his conduct is significantly more serious than a one-off use of a racially offensive term and amounts to an aggravating factor."

I dont think the FA will back down over this........if they do, it will only be reduced to 6 games

Did Suarez admit to using 'negro' several times? If so he looks to be in trouble. If it's just Evra's word then it comes down to which unreliable witness you want to believe.

They used Spanish lip readers as well as calling him a negro he called him Blackie as well as saying I don't speak to blackies. He claimed this is not offensive in Uruaguay, but the FA have found out that it is as well as all of South America.

The t-shirts was a ridiculously stupid thing to do but then I presume they decided to stand by their player and believe that he was being honest with his point of view so perhaps you can understand that to a degree but they should have waited for the evidence to be reviewed

I am utterly ashamed of this player, I hope Liverpool review their position on this idiot and get rid sharpish otherwise they are also going to be dragged through the mud even more.

A fascinating read! It has been a Liverpool vs Man Utd argument up to now, but I would like to know whether fans of either side have changed their minds after reading (some of) this.

Suarez comes out of it badly but with sympathy - he is guilty as hell, but coming to terms with what he had said and its significance probably took some time, hence all the changes in his story. He is probably not a racist, but any ban that is significantly longer than a typical red card would seem fair. After that he should be able to come back and play football.

Liverpool, or their lawyers, come out of it very badly indeed. Somebody should have told Suarez to just own up and show some contrition, saying exactly what he said and did. To say he pinched Evra's arm to defuse the situation was mad when it was all videoed. Their lawyers didn't earn their money. Somebody in charge at the club has got to take a stand now, apologise for the t-shirts, ignore the opportunity to appeal, and just move on.

Plus they've given themselves a nice get out clause in that statement for letting John Terry carry on as England captain even if he is found guilty.

It does still (to me) appear to be the case that it is simply Evra's word as to exactly what Suarez said. The weight of evidence is against Suarez but what isn't clear to me reading bits of that report is exactly where the inconsistencies are in Suarez's evidence.

Not sure what Ideal's rant above is about, it's chock full of mistruths, plus quite what Dalglish's managerial decisions at Newcastle have to do with Luis Suarez I don't know.
