Sounds like it was a bit of a non-event from what I've heard. Apart from when Uchy Ikpeazu was scythed down 2 footed by Ricky Allaway in the penalty area but no pen given. Jealousy maybe?

... if one of the forecasts we've been threatened with, is anywhere near half-right - then I fear the weather may put paid to that and a fair few other local games. Then again I think the recent outlook has been much drier and milder than predicted to date so who knows - certainly not the Met Office!

I'm hoping for it to stay dry enough to start off on Monday at Dorking (v Windsor) then off who knows where -

- the 11:30 KO gives a surprising number of 'feasible' doubles with 15:00 KOs at 'new' grounds for me - but as well as the vagaries of our climate, I'll have to contend with the M25 on a B/H Monday - so not sure how ambitious to be - will try and head for a 'cluster' of matches and hope I can land on one in time!

I went to Bangor City's final game at Farrar Road on Tuesday. A crowd of over 2,500 and a cracking 5-3 win over Prestatyn. Standing on crumbling old terraces felt a bit like Elm Park days and it will be interesting to see how Citizens will take to the move to a new modern stadium. Sad to say goodbye to an old non league ground of character and history that has staged some memorable European nights and FA Cup games over the years. Bit of good old fashioned crowd surging and a bit of terrace aggro for good measure. Forza Bangor

Taking in the delights of an Essex Derby today between Redbridge and Romford. Saw Romford earlier in the season and was not overly impressed as they limped past Royston Town in the FA Cup. And Monday may well be a double header with Dorking v Windsor at 11.30 followed possibly by Whyteleafe v someone else at 15:00.

...just in case anyone was thinking of strolling down to Palmer Pk for Highmoor/IBIS v Chinnor this PM, its been brought forward to a 13:00 KO as the Stadium/Complex has to close at 16:00h today.

Well, that was a pefectly poor game ruined by dreadful match officials. No communication with players unless they spoke to the ref first. Romford were poor and Redbridge not much better. What football that was played was in the first 15 minutes of the second half. The rest of the game dominated by hoofball and loads of very strange decisions that exasperated both teams. All culminated with a 21 man brawl which left one of the Redbridge players with an impressive lump under his left eye. And talking to a regular before the game I was told that this ref was a good one. The final score being 3-0 to Redbridge - the second of which was probably from the best move of the match.

Braved about 70 mins of Reading Town vs Fairford before retreating into the clubhouse to check the latest scores. Home side led 3-1; 2-0 at half time and cruising, 2-1 early in the 2nd and a spell of pressure from the struggling visitors before a penalty - presumably - ended it as a contest in favour of Town. Absolutely freezing cold, but far greater than going to Wales to see Reading FC get rolled.

- manage to dodge the wet-stuff and get in two games for the B/H -
1st up was CCL1 Eversley 1-2 Knaphill - bit blustery and they'd a) lost the programmes and b) decided not to bother opening the bar (probably lost the key! ) Hurried over the road at H/T for a swift one in the Frog & Wicket.
2nd match involved a charge round the M25 - with a sneaky corner cut @ jn 22 and on up the A1(M) to SSMP Royston 7-0 Biggleswade Utd good match - leaders were clinical with a sniff of goal - proper 'old-style' NL ground: nice thick programme, warm comfy big bar - obligatory dodgy Mobile Food Van did Burgers/Hot Dogs bacon etc etc
