I love the club legend status Gylfi holds, despite the fact he barely played for us.

However he still is my favourite footballer.

His goal scoring record speaks for itself, would like to know the % of goals scored from outside the box

Great Video. Forgot how good he actually was at dribbling!! Everyone knows him for vision, passing, freekicks, long range goals, goals, crossing, finishing, penalties, first touch and composure!!

The only way Gylfi will play for us again is if we get promoted.

Gylfi will be signing for Swansea in the January window. Brendan kiboshes the Royals once again. Heard it here frist.

They've got Scott Sinclair to play left wing though.

I am agonizing everytime I visit this thread. I am fully convinced this is where Gylfi wants to be after the window closes. I just don't know, or think, that is a realistic outcome business-wise. If we add Gylfi's offensive creativity to a team which is currently one of the best defensive squads in the league I would put money on us being promoted...without needing to do that through the play-off.

Top 3 Championship football (winning) and playing every game and getting a promotion (Reading)

versus bottom 8 losing football and not playing 20 x 90, and maybe being relegated (Swansea)

personally, it might well be better for his development if he went to Reading (and not just wishful thinking)

lol it is wishful thinking. Only in a Reading fans mind would we be a better option than any form of premiership team... never mind one who are closer to mid-table than they are the relegation zone. Swansea play the type of football sig would thrive on...the ball actually being played on the deck for a change. It also gives him a greater chance to put himself in the shop window for a move to a bigger prem club if he plays well. Swansea are a much better proposition for him.

But prospective managers won't be telling him he's only going to to play a little bit, and that they'll get relegated.

It's fair to say that a manager will be telling a player such as Gylfi that he will be the difference between relegation and staying up, and tbf he will make an impact at any such stature club.

I guess, in the case of Swansea, it'll depend largely on Gylfi's relationship with Rodgers - he hardly had the best experience playing under him at Reading, whereas his, albeit brief, time under McD was very positive....

Another clutching at straws im afraid. Rogers got him involved and gave him his chance.

Who's clutching at anything? There are any number of factors which could influence where he goes (if anywhere). All I'm saying is that in a decision for this particular player between Reading and Swansea, I don't believe that it would be "cut and dried" - it's not as simple as Championship vs Premiership.

I don't seriously think for a minute that Gylfi is likely to make a return to Reading, but there's no harm in dreaming....

he did drop him too though
was one of the factors in losing the dressing room, and therefore leaving

Brendan dropping Gylfi was one of the reasons he lost the dressing room?? I don't remember that at all!!
