Well does that mean that the chances of me seeing us lift the top prize are gone? Cant see me being around in 23 years.

floyd__streete Isn't that just typical of Reading FC's luck? The only team to finish 2nd place in the 2nd tier and not get promoted in around 100 years, relegated from the Prem on goal difference, 3 play off final defeats and now the end of the world doesn't come soon enough to save us from relegation from the Champ this season :|

Middlesborough had the 1994/95 league sown up and the top 5 were pretty well safe bar in implosion in form, so the teams going into the last few games of the season were more concerned about consolidation, resting players and not picking up any injuries for the play-offs. This allowed Reading to win the final game and go 2nd. Had 2nd place meant automatic promotion, then the last few games of that season would have been extremely competitive and Reading would almost certainly have ended lower than 2nd.
That season only 2 went up but 4 came down. Now Palace really had cause to be peezed off as they were the unlucky, one-time only relegated 4th from bottom team on a massive 45 points.

Shevchenko Extract from The Sunday Times 13th May, 2035

Royals Take The Thrown

And tonight, not just confined to a small town stretching from the M4 to just north of the river Thames, .

Did you mean Throne? or Crown? and what is this small Town that you refer to? It cannot be Reading as Reading is the biggest Town in England (all the bigger settlements are Cities.
