personally,i like listening to the comments of all three. compared to coverage of other teams in other areas,berks is by far the best IN MY OPINION. try listening to saints coverage,not a patch on ours.

Burnley coverage pisses all over Berks. It's fantastic. Calm, descriptive, informative, insiteful and relatively well balanced.

I have heard this stupidity from a lot of other commentators on Radio 5 so maybe it is a BBC fantasy

Yes Dellor is a plank sometimes - the 4th official decides how much time to add on being a particularly new low (didn't think we got Rugby League down here as that's the only place I can think where the actual ref doesn't control how much time to add on, so god knows how he managed to come up with that chestnut - unless he follows RL)

Dellor can't use that excuse - in rugby league the referee does control the clock. The timekeeper is in the stands, but only acts on the referee's instructions about when to stop the clock (and obviously there's no judgement needed about when time is up). It is an excellent system because everyone in the ground can see the signal and know when the referee has stopped the clock, and I think football would do well to adopt it.

Aye, I don't know what the fuss is about. I can follow the game, get a decent idea of what's going on, feed off his sincere excitement or disappointment, laugh at his deliberate inanity, and feel comfortable that the guy is on the fans side, not the clubs, sticking it to the players, managers and chairmen when required.

I genuinely don’t think you need any more from a local radio commentator. If it’s factual, robotic impartiality you want, why don’t you thankless c\/nts just watch the text commentaries on Sky’s website?

Not sure you can compare Test Match cricket and Championship football to be honest.

Game played over 5 days which is mostly sitting around waiting for something to happen is a little different to a game played at pace, constantly over 90 minutes. And TMS still find the time to describe what's actually happening at the wicket in more detail than Dellor manages when we're playing.

Bit of a crap effort on your part really.

When did you last watch a game of football? 'Played at pace, constantly over 90 minutes'?? Pretty shyte and inaccurate description on your part.

Have you not seen any of the stats relating to how long (or little) the ball is actually in live play during a game? - makes the decision to ban multiball even more scandalous.

There is plenty of time during games for Dellor and co to make the little comments that you dislike so much. They don't do too bad at describing the action either.

No, he really doesn't. Unless the ball spends about 3/4s of the game out of play.

Breaks in play are for analysis and discussion of the game, players and season so far.
