LUX the FA Cup is an irrelevance and has been for nearly 20 years. It might appeal to Premier League also-rans who are probably safe from relegation (eg Villa, Chelsea), plus lower league clubs hoping for a payday (and fair play to them).
I'll make an exception in the case of today's Manchester derby, which has taken on a great significance. But even then, City will probably win and then play their (still pretty good tbf) reserves in the ensuing rounds. And lose to Stoke, or something.

gazzer, loyal royal the worst performance for years.
still have no idea what Church brings to the team. He made 4 touches in 65 minutes. no movement, woeful
only feds had a good game. We were lacklustre at best

The FA cup hasn't been an irrelevance to us for the past couple of seasons. Had McD decided to play what consisted of basically the reserve team, they couldn't have done any worse than the ones who played yesterday. I would rather have had the chance to see some of the other players, even if they lost the game, than see the complete lack of commitment and interest that I saw yesterday from the majority of players who have held a first team place all season. There were very few "passes" - mainly hoof ball and when a player did try and pass, the recipient either wasn't looking (e.g Church) or the pass was totally abysmal (e.g. Legs). They should be ashamed. McD even said he'd done his homework on Stevenage - unfortunately, his dog must have eaten it - because I saw nothing out there today that showed anyone knew what they were doing. Looking at the bench summed everything up for me. If that is our cover for the season, heaven help us.

sandman I'm thinking Andersen for Vice President, Locke for Secretary of State, Santangello for Chief of Staff and McCarthy for Court Jester.

floyd__streete LOL @ losing 0-1 at home to a team from the division below having made only 2 changes and our goalkeeper being man of the match.
LOL @ those two changes frankly proving why they don't play every week.
LOL @ how easy ALF and Church are to play against.
LOL @ Brendy who thinks we're playing the ball on the deck a lot more this season
