lowerwestjnr Warnock is gone

Shocking, I never thought I would say this, but Warnock has been unfairly treated.

4 wins from last 20, 2 points from last possible 24, new owners looking to take the club forward and he regularly makes them look stupid with hid comments and has them one place above the relegation zone

Only shocking thing is that he didn't go sooner

It's always unlucky when a Manager gets a Club promoted but then gets the sack after a few months struggling in the higher division but Warnock finds himself in the same situation that many players do when their Club gets promoted beyond their level.

A big factor in this decision in my opinion is that QPR have loads of dosh they want to spend in the transfer window and they don't think Warnock is the man to spend it wisely or to attract a better quality of player.

I don't feel too sorry for Warnock. He has no doubt received a nice pay off and will get another job in the Football League soon. Wouldn't be surprised to see him at Ipswich soon or even somewhere like Forest. Not sure he'd want the job but I bet Preston will be in touch within the next 24 hours too if they haven't already offered the job to someone that hasn't been announced yet.

i agree. they've been on a poor run, and when you have an ambitious owner at the helm you don't get much of a chance to turn things around. relegation for qpr would be a disaster and if the club act quickly there will be time to make new signings and give the club a chance of staying up and adding further to the side in the summer.

steve cotterill is already under pressure at nottingham forest. i wonder if the board will get itchy fingers while warnock is still available.

Warnock has never had the guile to cut it in the Premier League. All he does is embarrass himself & the club by whinging about anything & everything. Was hoping they didn't sack him so they inevitably got relegated so actually a bit gutted they've done it.

Absolutely the right decision for the club.

Who is available out there of any quality? Curbishley is well and truly off the radar, Hughes? Not so sure he is the right man, Coppell??? I have a funny feeling that we will see the return of Sven Goran Ericsson. High profile name who is used to spending

I love Warnock, for getting us promoted and for Reading fans having a dislike for him, makes him an even better bloke.

Quite simply, Fernandes has a 4 year plan and being relegated doesn't figure, Warnock is a great motivator but has been tactically naive in recent weeks, his signings haven't really worked, but i can't help but think that Barton was a big player behind this, his performances have been poor, his level of commitment hasn't been right, and his tweet last night basically saying that Neil was a brilliant championship manager, kind of confirmed that Barton thought he wasn't up to it.

Mark Hughes wouldn't have been my selection, but it looks a done deal, i'd have been seething at a Zola/Wilkins partnership, but that looks like lazy journalism, i guess Hughes will get Bridge and hopefully persuade Samba to make the move, it's a shame Neil has gone, and i would have liked to have seen him given 2 more games, Newcastle away and then the big one, Wigan at home, lose that and then fire him, but i guess there is no good time, and at least Hughes will have time to assess who and what he needs in the transfer window, whatever happens though, as long as we finish above the bottom 3, and i get £20 off that rat Maskell, i'll be happy.

Therein lies the reason behind the timing I guess - the Wigan game is Saturday 21st January and thus would only leave the new manager 10 days (and only an FA Cup game by way of a competitive match) to pinpoint where he wants to strengthen the squad.

I can't stand Colin, but its a kick in the teeth to the guy who got the fakies promoted imho. If - as The Game in The Times suggests - that Fernandez has been thinking of sacking Colin "for a number of weeks" then it must mean that after only 5 or 6 poor results they thought "time to get rid"; thats genuinely terrible and smacks of major panic.

Remember that not that long ago, QPR used to hold its very own Manager of the Month competition - at least Colin gave them stability and the nous to get them promoted.

And what happens if the new manager has a similar run of form - which is very possible - presumably he will get sacked as well?

When you have a board who think that all it takes to get quick success is money then this is the inevitable outcome.
