Hardly a great risk on a free and looks very promising.

Cannot believe the whingers on here. He could well turn out to be a good player in time so give the lad a chance.

Why is it a pointless signing?

Because we seem to have more than our fair share of thick supporters who, sadly, never seem to learn from making similarly ignorant observations about players they've never seen kick a ball who have gone on to be sold for 7 figure fees.

One of our more promising cheap punts, but I can't say I'm very hopeful after seeing the youtube clip of him.

He is unlikely to have a big impact this season, and personally I find it doubtful he'll make it here at all on the limited info we've got. I certainly wish him all the best in his time here and hope he does come good. I won't be writing him off until there's some evidence he's a failed signing.

Strikes me as not the signing we need right now though. We've now seven strikers to develop and only one with a good scoring record at this level and he has injury problems. What we need is a couple who are ready to be in the team and scoring goals regularly from the start. I really like Le Fondre, Church and Manset, and I hope I'll like Sheppard, but liking doesn't mean they'll produce the goods we need.

Looks like he has a similar body shape to Long to me.

Saw someone saying that he doesn't look quick from the video, pretty hard to judge considering there's only one clip of him running, the rest are of headers.

not he looks half decent- and may turn into another doyle, or long
this doesnt mean hes the only player we will buy though, but if he is, we are in 5th place, and it doesnt seem to me that the team is falling apart without loads more new players
obviously a new brilliant striker would be great- but even jordan rhodes for 4 million + wages is unproven at this level, wouldnt be guaranteed to take us up etc

Difficult to get too excited about this signing as past evidence would suggest he'll spend the next 6 months in the stiffs before going on loan to someone like Macclesfield for the whole of next season

Personally I'm looking forward to seeing him. He's someone that's scored goals at every level he's played and he's only 20. Yeah he could turn into a Mooney but I've got high hopes after doing a little bit of digging.
