Super Jem

by Archie's penalty » 14 Jan 2012 18:53

He is superb. Total core of the team, snapping at opponents heels, never gives the other team a moment's break. Very few players in the country have his energy levels. I salute you Jem (but not your dodgy mustache).

the premier league cries out for players like this. can we hold onto him for next season? are john madejski's eyes lighting up and another big summer sale to ease the never ending black hole?

The love child nonsense continues. He's a solid player but extremely limited. His passing, first touch, attacking abilities and awareness are why he'll only be a championship player but apart from that he's solid at what he does which is annoying and snap at the opposition.

I haven't posted for a while but his performance tonight deserves ackowledgement. His retention of the ball was the best I've see from him which, allied to his usual strengths, made that a top performance. Tough call for MOM with Noel Hunt

I love him, his energy, but did you see Tabb's through ball for Hunt?

If Karacan could do that he'd be totally awesome.
But IMO he can still learn that

I think he'll go, probably this summer

(I see Shane got another Premiership goal too)

i'm not sure what you're rolling your eyes at, you know we'll lose a 'top player' this summer to ease the ongoing deficit.

Yep he's good, if/when he finally starts to get some composure he'll be very good. Still panics and plays a percentage ball too often which is a shame because his passing is actually very good.

you know nothing Friday s legacy - nor do i

we lost 5 million last set of accounts, and then sold 9 millions worth of players, while spending 1.8, so
depending on how much money weve spunked on wages we could be fine-especially as gates have been good this year.

who knows- lets moan about it when/if it happens, not 4 months before it possibly might eh?

at the very least use the thread to acknowledge a good game as it was intended, and keep financial moans for the threads designed for that

Great Championship player with not quite enough in his locker (atm) to succeed in the Prem. Certainly for anyone he doesn't get promoted with.

Harsh on Tabb Jem's progressed so well from the Academy. And testament to Jems quality he keeps Tabb out the side.

That's exactly what he did tonight. Won it, passed it simple, won it passed it simple. He is learning about himself and what he can and can't do. Every time each set of centre backs win a header and knock it back into central midfield he is the most likely to pick up the bits and pieces. Stevenage won all of those knock downs last week. Wonder why that was ? :-)

Big fan of Jem, his work rate is brilliant i just wish he would take a bit of time on the ball and try and find a through ball once in a while. Wonder if anyone knows how many goals we have scored this season with a proper through ball through the middle? (I do obviously understand that the our strikers may need to be make more runs first but they must make some)

He's a very good champ player and thats it!! Can't pass and no first touch! Would struggle in the prem for me!

+ 1, not usually a fan of Jem - too much ray sideways Wilkins for me, but on the box, seemed to step up tonight and do the simple things well

A great ball and I think the ref's got that one wrong. Probably the same amount of contact as the claim in the first half (when the ref got it right) but he was through and momentum meant he went down, so was a penalty for me.

But, yeah Karacan. Quality stuff.

Technically I agree it was a penalty. But it was a soft one and on balance I have no complaints. Especially given Hunt was on his way down before the contact on his ankle and the way he'd flung himself appealing for a pen in the first half.

Hunt made it much harder to give than it actually was. And it completely relies on the ref seeing the contact on Hunt's wrongside ankle, when he can already see he's heading for the ground.

Jem has been my player of the year so far.
However, I don't think he is quite ready for the prem, maybe if he performs to a high standard for the rest of this season and next we may get some interest?
I'm sure his contact is only 18months left which is a bit of a worry. Don't want another jimmy Kebe situation in a years time!!
