If so:

Media Sports Investments (MSI) is a London-based international investment fund[1] that until June 2006 was headed by the Iranian-born, British-educated, businessman Kia Joorabchian. It has attracted considerable attention for its ownership between 2004 and 2007 of Corinthians football club in Brazil, and for its involvement in the 'third-party' ownership of players, notably the Argentinian forward Carlos Tévez.

The source of the money behind MSI was a subject of considerable speculation. Roman Abramovich, owner of Chelsea, was at one time rumored to own a 15% share in the group, while Joorabchian was persistently linked to the oligarch Boris Berezovsky and his associate Badri Patarkatsishvili.[2][3] MSI itself declared that it had "a number of investors mainly based in Britain and Russia".[4]

Barcelona want Kebe, and have just decided that the easiest way is to get their sponsors to buy the whole club.

One thing for sure; this can't be a bad thing. If they're fake, JM is still in control and can keep us on the same safe path.

If they're real, we can use their investment effectively without going overboard, as JM is keeping us on the same safe path.

JM has arguably lacked a risk-taking nature over recent seasons, and has definitely lacked funds. This takes care of the definite problem if these guys are for real. And we lose nothing if they're not.

Final thing to consider. JM hears all the "Where's all the money gone" questions and sees his popularity diminishing. If he releases this statement without substance then I really have lost faith in him, as it would be one of the worst pieces of PR ever.

Reading manager Brian McDermott flew to Milan to meet the club's prospective owners earlier in the week to discuss team rebuilding.
