OOO OOO OOO!!!!!

Bertrand and Siggy would be amazing buys! Plus a top CB and striker and we'd be quality nice. (in the summer if we get promoted that is). Not so sure I'd be as enthusiastic about the return of Doyle.

Of course, the downside to this is that it might be bad news for McCarthy with no need to sell Federici.

great save from mccarthy yesterday about 5 yards outside of his box

 had to laugh really, it's not even like he tried to just palm it away, he caught the bloody ball  against his former side, too...

Sonko headed it at him at quite a speed, then played a brilliant through ball for the first goal.

tomrfcurz I don't think i can get too excited about new deals until we sign our first new player since the new owners. Then we can see exactly what 'limited funds' are down as.

If it's Jason Roberts then the alarm bells should be ringing.

Or it shows we're clearly now willing to pay higher wages then we would have done previously. We won't sign him permanently but when we do make a permanent signing, as i say, i think things will automatically become clearer

Why are people complaining about Jason Roberts?

He has FAR more pedigree than any of our current strikers and a loan until the end of the season? we could do MUCH worse. Like I don't know....Khumalo rofl.

Not really. Depsite your personal opinion of the player, normally he would be out of our league with regards to wages.

he would be a quick and affordable fix, and an immediate improvement on the forwards we have at the club. 18 month deal would suit us.

Because he's crap on FM 12?

I personally think he would be excellent at this level and hope we get him.

Regarding Roberts, I would have no issues with a loan move for him.

So we've come into some money and could maybe do with a left back?

If Jason Roberts does come in on loan I think it will take him a while to make an impact as he has not played many games in the last year.
I think with the limited funds available to McDermott in this transfer window maybe his main priority will be to use these funds to ensure Kebe stays first.

I think Bertrand will be a better option than Wayne Bridge :)

Kebe has already received an (i would've thought) improved offer, as McD confirmed yesterday. He has a transfer budget on top of this to strengthen the squad it would seem

Kebe, McAnuff, Leigertwood, Robson-Kanu, Manset, Cummings, Baseya, Antonio, Bignall, Walcott and others must really be looking forward to those exhibition matches in our Russian pre-season tours...

Gav
Arch Gotta say, having resolutely supported the club and SJM in the face of barrages of criticism over the years, I'm not about to change tune now. It's hard to imagine a more encouraging statement coming from the old man. I guess the main residual danger is that he's being hoodwinked by smart and ruthless businessmen, but I doubt it.

^^^ This. What a total hero.

got to be time for people to admit hes been nothing but great for this club- took over with the club in a mess, took us from elm park, new stadium, gave us the 106 point season premiere league football for two years, established us as a regular championship contender, gave us an academy to be proud of, financial stability, and then when his money ran out, waited until the (hopefully)right buyer could be found before sending us all off into dream land.

time for those who boo'd and moaned, and said he never had any intention of selling and only wanted to keep running the club for the kudos and exposure it gave him to take a look at themselves imo.
