No doubt we'll soon be paying over-inflated wages to shite players like church. If Kebe wanted to stay he'd of accepted the offer when we first made it to him. If he's only here for the money (which is what most of us are now thinking) it will reflect in his performances, which are half-assed most of the time. We've got money now to replace him with somebody that's hungry and consistent. Regardless, I think if we gave HRK a season down the wing he'd turn into a quality player.

urz13 Kebe will sign a new contract by Thursday. You heard it here first.

Same is posted on the Jimmy Kebe page on Facebook. Not sure where this has come from. Money talks

Doesn't it just. Mercenary little shit. Problem is that you then get other players stamping their feet about wanting more money. I hope this doesn't upset the dressing room.

Doubt they've upped his money more than the original contract offer.....more likely he can now see that there is ambition, but also a real chance that we could make it back to the PL in the next couple of seasons, at least puts us on a par, if not in a better position than the likes of Leicester with whom he's been linked...

This.

He'll earn the big bucks if we get promoted - that's his benefit to staying. We now have a much better chance of achieving that. Before we were working on the hanging around 7 - 14 until we get lucky, something clicks and we're in with a decent shout of promotion.

It's the way we've been playing football on the pitch as well IMO. Playing the low percentages, knowing it'll leave us in with a shout of winning, but not over-extending towards it because we don't have the finances / right players to achieve it. Making it hard for us to go down / get beaten has seemed to be the main plan.

Im hearing kebe has had a change of heart but the club are now less willing to offer him a good deal because they haven't been happy with his carry on.

lol if true and we get rid.

Far as I was aware it wasn't the money but the length of the contract that had Jimmy miffed in the first place. Reading were offering good wages for 2 seasons and he wanted 3. The extra security in the finances might now make that extra season possible rather than a massive bump in wages.

It wasn't money or length of contract that meant Jimmy wouldn't sign, it was that he felt that he'd be playing with a new group of players again next season, hopefully this is no longer an issue

Isnt that just life though ? If he moved to another club he'd be playing with a new bunch of people and if he stayed there he'd be likely to be playing with new people in a years time. Thats football people move around, at least here he had a manager who believed in him and wanted him to stay. Sorry cant believe that one.

Surely it is an issue - he'll hardly be playing with the same group of players but all the new signings!

I think he is referring to the fact that our marquee players like Long and Sigurdsson aren't kept which means the club struggles to progress.

Well, if rouge has deciphered it it can't of been that confusing.

Basically though kebe fed up with mad man sell best players every year so no sign contract, now no need sell players maybe kebe stay
