ZacNaloen I suspect these investors will be on the same page though and voting together on any decisions.

As Anton says, he's got a business plan that they have bought into.

But it does leave room for future growth. As Reading grow Anton can go find Investors with bigger pockets, as the team is more attractive.

Hopefully this isn't just a new front for dodgy far east business men. That's my only worry.

My worry is that he's another Sulaiman Al-Fahim. Seemingly deep pockets, but no real worth and these "investors" turn out to not exist or disappear when the going gets tough.

I think people are getting paranoid about why we don't know the investors names.
There's only actually one person along with Anton, it's this guy:

royalexile I would expect at least 3-4 investors within TSI. Who these investors are remains to be seen. An interesting set up if it's proven to be so. SJM would therefore still be the majority shareholder.
Branson would be an interesting prospect.

I can see where you are going with that line - but it is fundamentally flawed. The members of TSI will not have a proportional share of the 51% that they own, their voting will take place in side TSI and then the consortium has a block vote of 51%.

Platypuss - Долгосрочная. - The long-term. Амбиции в том, чтобы улучшить экономику, а не амбиции всех обыграть. Ambition is to improve the economy, not all ambition to beat. Предвосхищу вопрос – сумасшедших финансовых вливаний не требуется. Anticipating the question - crazy financial investments are required. What a hero. Delighted by this. He'll be loved nationwide.

Silver Fox I've done some research, apparently Anton's dad used to be in Pulp, don't know what instrument he played

I think Anton's dad played the organ grinder

Many of his business competitors got into Pulp on his suggestion

Yes. So who does the 'fit and proper' person test apply to?

And why did the RFC people fly to Milan for the meeting?

What possible relevance to that discussion does either of those questions have?

Does the fit and proper persons test even apply?

Nothing has changed with the management structure of the club, we don't have a new director/chairman/CEO or whatever. It's just that the majority shareholder has changed, and we'll have some new board members.

Comment from Graeme Murty

"He wants the club to go forward and progress and back in the Premier League and I think that is why he has done what he has done.

"Sir John has always said he is looking for someone with deep pockets to do what he couldn't do himself and I think he deserves a lot of respect for saying that.

"To do what he couldn't do himself".................those are the crucial words we should be excited about.

Same as before, but with a little extra.

Sounds good.

If there is to be a new majority shareholder he/they would control the club and therefore I would have thought it sensible that the test would apply. Maybe not?

Murty says whilst announcing he's jumping ship?

Actions speak louder than words for this cynic I'm afraid.

Oh come on, it's fairly irrelevant anyway. You seem to need to carry out genocide to fail it

Yeah it does. Nothing stupid like throwing hundreds of millions at a quick fix, but more of the same but with bigger budgets for better players. If we do get back to the Premiership then this time we will have a chance to stay there and keep improving, whereas before it would always be a case of hoping we do enough with what er've got.

Maguire The point isn't that there's a thread at all (=understandable) but that it's 80% full of uttershit.

I'm guessing this is disappointing for you cf. the AE proportion of utter shit, which rarely drops below an impressive 95%
