RoyalBlue Corky341 On February 5, 2011, Cywka was openly criticised by Derby boss Nigel Clough after his losing of the ball late in the game led to a late equaliser in a 1-1 draw at Portsmouth. Of Cywka, Clough said "He's an extremely inexperienced and not very bright footballer... he can go back to Wigan or wherever he came from - I'm not really bothered - until he learns the game."

Oh what a brilliant bit of people management there! No wonder he wanted to get away!
It puts McD's man management in a good light, that's for sure. I wondered last week how McCarthy must have felt at the criticism of him hurled out on the radio by that meathead Jewell, who didn't even refer to him by name ("the goalkeeper"). Hopefully, it will make McC appreciate the Reading way even more.
I'm so used to the Brian (and Coppell) style now that I feel almost shocked when I hear managers slagging off their players on air. I don't mean constructive criticism like we heard from Dalglish recently, I mean scathing remarks that are only going to demotivate players.
