Field a third of an ineligible player in one of them ... so illegally sign a multiple amputee and bring him (or her) on as a sub in the last 5 minutes?

I can see 4 points from the next two.

I can imagine us beating Hull 1-0

Then stupidly drawing against Bristol 1-1

I'd rather it that way round.

Agreed. A defeat v Hull would not be nice, a win would be huge.

IF we could manage to win these two home games (won't be at all easy)
we will start to look half-decent bets for at least top six.

The current top two teams, obviously, and Cardiff, but Birmingham and Burnley looking stronger,
the Burnley manager finally getting their act together, so it's beginning to look like those, RFC,
and 2-3 others as the better sides. I think it will be ruthlessly tight this year and the message is
"Don't lose the six-pointers."

Plus if we can get these 6 points we are making it so we don't need 8-9 straight wins like last year.

Can't see us gaining much ground on the top 4 this weekend if we win, could slip back a bit if we lose...

Fixtures look fairly easy for top four:

Cardiff v Portsmouth
Coventry v Middlesbrough
West Ham v Forest
Southampton v Leicester

I'd expect most of them to pick up points, if I had an optimistic hat on it would be nice to think that Coventry and Forest could up their games a bit and Pompey might stand half a chance at Cardiff I guess, got a feeling the games could all go against us though....

Game by game, less worried about "gaining on the top four"

but it would be nice to be 5th and 5th/6th start to build a gap between 6th and 7th

It will be a MASSIVE ask to squeeze into the top two

Even if W Ham and Soton start serious wobbles (9 points worth)
we will still have to cope with Cardiff, Burnley, Birmingham all
with seemingly better resources

I'd just like to LOLLY at Matt Mills' Leicester being seen as a three point banker for newly promoted Saints, halfway through the season.

I'm not a very nice person. 8)

M-U-R-T-Y Make no bones about it, Cardiff + Hull are big games.

shame we lost em both really.

FWIW was 4 wins and 2 defeats, 2 points per game over the 6, so extrapolated over a 46 point season and that is 92pts (SB hat off now)

Next 6 games anyone??

Brighton (H) - 2-0 (3-0, probably cos I never got there)
Ipswich (H) - 1-0 (1-0 Close Enough!!!)
Cardiff (A) - 1-2 (1-3 Not far away again, 3 results from 3)
Watford (A) - 1-1 2-1 EXCELLENT!
Hull (H) - 2-0 Lost 0-1
Bristol (H) - 1-1 Won 1-0

W3 D2 L1 8-4 11 points would do me.<<<<<
W4 D0 L2 8-5 12 points is even better!!

12 points from 6 games, this is a very good run!

Actually it's Championship-winning form, as is 24 points from our last 11 games.

Donny (A) W 2-1 (worried about this one)
Coventry (H) W 2-0
Derby (A) D 1-1 (altho' it's a place we might nick a win)
Burnley (H) D 1-1 (Obviously a win very useful but we could even lose this)
M'bro (A) D 1-1
Millwall (A) W 2-0

Don't care how we get the 12 points from 6 games, as long as we get them\

W3 D3 would be brilliant. Don't really care which wins, which draws.

Possibly optimistic, but then we have JR now.
