I thought this thread was meant to be about the possibility of the non-existant transfer of Rhodes to Reading not discussion about every other player who might do a job here.

Has there been anything concrete posted anywhere on Rhodes to Reading since the Chronic talked up the likelihood of this move on Thursday?

FiNeRaIn I would drive down to london and pick bertrand up myself. Best left back we've ever seen at the club, ahead of shorey IMO.

Disagree. First and foremost, he needs to be able to defend. Sure, he is good going forward but defensively he has much to learn.

Agree that he had defensive weaknesses last time but superb going forward. Better than shorey as an individual perhaps but in that team Shorey was our Beckham. Ran the team from left back, brilliant set pieces and rightly lined up for England as result.

Rhodes might be our next cap...

I've seen Bertrand playing for Forest, Norwich, and Reading and reckon he's overrated.

He was excellent for us week in and week out. Definitely a PL player of the future. We would be lucky to get him if we go up.

Might as well lock this, it would be a DREAM signing for us but its not going to happen in a million years.

easy to say that about most signings, the odds are in your favour, but if we really are prepared to part with around £3.5m for CMS (if), then there is a genuine chance we could get rhodes for similar plus a player. at the end of the day we haven't got a clue what is going on behind the scenes, but the football club is a lot more ambitious now so don't be so quick to rubbish a link to a player you yourself can't see coming here. be amazing if we did get him though. a real statement of intent if so.

Too good to be true. Having seen him play he is at bottom half of the prem striker at worst. Touch, movement, cleverness, etc just a class apart. We wont get him.

a premiership club will not risk him until he's proven at this level, especially for the money being touted.

I do agree with what you are saying, but Arsenal did for Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain...
