RFCUK Anyone else secretly happy it's called off? Definitely did not fancy sitting out in that for a few hours.. Though I'm sure the re-match schedule will be rubbish..
Tuesday 21st Feb
Tuesday 28th Feb
Tuesday 13th March
Tuesday 27th March
Will surely be likely to one of the next few available Tuesdays..

Kitsondinho Prepared for a whoosh, but nothing about it being off on either of the official websites atm or BBC.....

Gordons Cumming Can only drop to 9th if Burnley win.
Brighton & Leeds would need big wins to overtake us.

We could also move up to 7th if Cardiff win by 3 or more against Blackpool

leicsRoyal Does make you wonder when the Reading coaches were due to leave at 9.30am as would many driving and on the train.
Why was the pitch inspection at 10.15am?

I'm afraid sometimes there's more too it than the away fans travelling.
Carlisle at MK dons was a much worse situation.

I understand there can be more to it but if a game is called off at 10.15am, there is no chance of that pitch improving enough before kick off.
What difference would it have made at 9.15am?

They did have an earlier one and said that the pitch was deteriorating and so had another one at 10.15 and presumably it had deteriorated further so they called it off. I am not on the coaches but I had a call before 10 to say there was to be another inspection and so the coaches have turned round.
One benefit of going on the coaches is that STAR has insurance for this sort of occurence and so the rearranged trip will be free to those who booked for today, unlike most making their own way there.

No problem with Star, or for myself as I wouldn't have left until 12 anyway.
There are plenty of RFC fans already on the road or train that didn't have the luxury of inside information or living more locally.
The pitch was already poor enough at 9am and deteriorating, with temperatures not forecast to get above -2, snow forecast and no undersoil heating.
I'm just curious as to how the pitch could possibly have improved after 9am?
