Couldn't they get the flame thrower they used to have at the Bescott?

moo So how much does a undersoil heating system cost to buy and then install ?

I think the problem occurred when the ground was built it was owned by the council, maybe still is. They deemed it was not a neccesary expenditure.

Thankfully I checked Facebook 5 mins before leaving the house to get the train, not sure when I would have found out otherwise...

Can't believe in this day and age a club would get a brand new stadium without undersoil heating. Typical Cheap northerners.

Surely a worthwhile spend as it would pay for itself with the attendance and food purchases.. To have the game on a Tuesday night would mean fewer people so less ticket money, plus also the costs of running the lights both internal and external

They should be fined for failing to stage the game.

I think the club whos ground it is should reimburse away fans travelling expenses. Its their responsablity to make sure the game goes ahead.Feel sorry for the fans that paid out 50+ on train tickets

leicsRoyal I understand there can be more to it but if a game is called off at 10.15am, there is no chance of that pitch improving enough before kick off.
What difference would it have made at 9.15am?

Maybe they wanted to give the groundstaff an opportunity to work on the pitch and see if they could get the game on.

The pitch deteriorated in that hour.

What did they do, chuck a couple of buckets of cold water on it?

It's one of those things but not handled especially well in my opinion. From the announcement yesterday to the inspections this morning.

This is definitely a good reason for a midwinter break in Jan.
